Journal ArticleDOI
Alterations of the human gut microbiome in liver cirrhosis
Nan Qin,Fengling Yang,Ang Li,Edi Prifti,Yanfei Chen,Li Shao,Jing Guo,Jian Yao,Lingjiao Wu,Jiawei Zhou,Ni Shujun,Lin Liu,Nicolas Pons,Jean-Michel Batto,Sean Kennedy,Pierre Leonard,Chunhui Yuan,Wenchao Ding,Yuanting Chen,Xinjun Hu,Beiwen Zheng,Guirong Qian,Wei Xu,S. Dusko Ehrlich,Shu-Sen Zheng,Lanjuan Li +25 more
TL;DR: The gut microbiome in liver cirrhosis is characterized by comparing 98 patients and 83 healthy control individuals and on the basis of only 15 biomarkers, a highly accurate patient discrimination index is created and validated on an independent cohort, suggesting microbiota-targeted biomarkers may be a powerful tool for diagnosis of different diseases.
Journal ArticleDOI
Gut microbiome analysis as a tool towards targeted non-invasive biomarkers for early hepatocellular carcinoma.
Zhigang Ren,Ang Li,Jianwen Jiang,Lin Zhou,Zujiang Yu,Haifeng Lu,Haiyang Xie,Xiaolong Chen,Li Shao,Ruiqing Zhang,Shao-Yan Xu,Hua Zhang,Guangying Cui,Xinhua Chen,Ranran Sun,Hao Wen,Jan Lerut,Quancheng Kan,Lanjuan Li,Shusen Zheng +19 more
TL;DR: This study is the first to characterise gut microbiome in patients with HCC and to report the successful diagnosis model establishment and cross-region validation of microbial markers for HCC.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Metal-Polyphenol-Coordinated Nanomedicine for Synergistic Cascade Cancer Chemotherapy and Chemodynamic Therapy.
Zhigang Ren,Shichao Sun,Ranran Sun,Guangying Cui,Liangjie Hong,Benchen Rao,Ang Li,Zujiang Yu,Quancheng Kan,Zhengwei Mao +9 more
TL;DR: In vitro and in vivo investigations demonstrate that the combination of chemotherapy and chemodynamic therapy achieves excellent anticancer efficacy, and systemic toxicity faced by platinum‐based drugs is avoided through this nanoformulation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Alterations and correlations of the gut microbiome, metabolism and immunity in patients with primary biliary cirrhosis
Longxian Lv,Daiqiong Fang,Ding Shi,Deying Chen,Ren Yan,Yixin Zhu,Yanfei Chen,Li Shao,Feifei Guo,Wenrui Wu,Ang Li,Haiyan Shi,Xiawei Jiang,Huiyong Jiang,Yonghong Xiao,Shu-Sen Zheng,Lanjuan Li +16 more
TL;DR: The gut microbiome is altered and may be critical for the onset or development of PBC by interacting with metabolism and immunity, and several altered gut bacterial taxa exhibited potential interactions with PBC through their associations with altered metabolism, immunity and liver function indicators.
Journal ArticleDOI
Gut microbial profile analysis by MiSeq sequencing of pancreatic carcinoma patients in China
Zhigang Ren,Zhigang Ren,Jianwen Jiang,Haiyang Xie,Ang Li,Ang Li,Haifeng Lu,Shao-Yan Xu,Lin Zhou,Hua Zhang,Guangying Cui,Guangying Cui,Xinhua Chen,Yuanxing Liu,Liming Wu,Nan Qin,Ranran Sun,Wei Wang,Lanjuan Li,Weilin Wang,Shusen Zheng +20 more
TL;DR: Gut microbial profile was unique in PC, providing a microbial marker for non-invasive PC diagnosis, and based on 40 genera associated with PC, microbial markers achieves a high classification power with AUC of 0.842.
