CARD15/NOD2 mutational analysis and genotype-phenotype correlation in 612 patients with inflammatory bowel disease.
Suzanne Lesage,Habib Zouali,Jean-Pierre Cézard,Jean-Frederic Colombel,Jacques Belaiche,Sven Almer,Curt Tysk,Colm O'Morain,Miquel A. Gassull,Vibeke Binder,Yigael Finkel,Robert Modigliani,Corinne Gower-Rousseau,J. Macry,Françoise Merlin,Mathias Chamaillard,Anne-Sophie Jannot,Gilles Thomas,Jean-Pierre Hugot +18 more
TL;DR: The mutational analyses of CARD15 in 453 patients with CD, including 166 sporadic and 287 familial cases, 159 patients with ulcerative colitis (UC), and 103 healthy control subjects provide tools for a DNA-based test of susceptibility and for genetic counseling in inflammatory bowel disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
Differential contributions of rare and common, coding and noncoding ret mutations to multifactorial hirschsprung disease liability
Eileen Sproat Emison,Merce Garcia-Barcelo,Elizabeth A. Grice,Francesca Lantieri,Jeanne Amiel,Jeanne Amiel,Grzegorz M. Burzynski,Raquel M. Fernández,Li Hao,Carl S. Kashuk,Kristen West,Xiaoping Miao,Paul K.H. G. M. Verheij,Robert M.W. Hofstra,Guillermo Antiñolo,Salud Borrego,Andrew S. McCallion,Aravinda Chakravarti +31 more
TL;DR: The distribution of RET variants in diverse HSCR patients suggests a "cellular-recessive" genetic model where both RET alleles' function is compromised, and the RET allelic series, and its genotype-phenotype correlations, shows that success in variant identification in complex disorders may strongly depend on which patients are studied.
Journal ArticleDOI
Association between antidepressant use and reduced risk of intubation or death in hospitalized patients with COVID-19: results from an observational study.
Nicolas Hoertel,Nicolas Hoertel,Marina Sánchez-Rico,Marina Sánchez-Rico,Raphaël Vernet,Nathanaël Beeker,Anne-Sophie Jannot,Antoine Neuraz,Antoine Neuraz,Elisa Salamanca,Nicolas Paris,Christel Daniel,Alexandre Gramfort,Guillaume Lemaitre,Mélodie Bernaux,Ali Bellamine,Cédric Lemogne,Cédric Lemogne,Guillaume Airagnes,Guillaume Airagnes,Anita Burgun,Frédéric Limosin,Frédéric Limosin +22 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the potential usefulness of antidepressant use in patients hospitalized for COVID-19 in an observational multicenter retrospective cohort study conducted at AP-HP Greater Paris University hospitals was examined.
Journal ArticleDOI
Interobserver agreement issues in radiology.
TL;DR: When the measures are quantitative, the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) should be used to assess agreement but this should be done with care because there are different ICCs so that it is important to describe the model and type of ICC being used.
Journal ArticleDOI
Citation bias favoring statistically significant studies was present in medical research
TL;DR: A citation bias favoring significant results occurs in medical research, and treatments may seem more effective to the readers of medical literature than they really are.
