Journal ArticleDOI
Cross-strip readouts for photon counting detectors with high spatial and temporal resolution
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe the latest developments in high-resolution cross-strip (XS) anode readout for photon counting imaging with microchannel plates (MCPs).
Journal ArticleDOI
The CG-1D Neutron Imaging Beamline at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory High Flux Isotope Reactor
Lou Santodonato,Hassina Z. Bilheux,Barton Bailey,J.C. Bilheux,Phong Nguyen,Anton S. Tremsin,Doug Selby,L. Walker +7 more
TL;DR: The Oak Ridge National Laboratory Neutron Sciences Directorate has installed a neutron imaging beamline at the High Flux Isotope Reactor (HFIR) cold guide hall as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Time-of-flight neutron imaging on IMAT@ISIS: A new user facility for materials science
Winfried Kockelmann,Triestino Minniti,D.E. Pooley,Genoveva Burca,Ranggi S. Ramadhan,Freddie A. Akeroyd,Gareth D. Howells,Chris Moreton-Smith,David Keymer,Joe Kelleher,Saurabh Kabra,Tung Lik Lee,R. Nightingale +32 more
TL;DR: The hardware and software components for data collection and image analysis on IMAT are surveyed, and a step-by-step procedure for operating the instrument for energy-dispersive imaging is provided using a two-phase metal test object as an example.
Journal ArticleDOI
Microchannel plate operation at high count rates : new results
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe an experimental study of two distinct microchannel plate (MCP) detector configurations with extended dynamic range, and present a thermal model of bonded, conductively-cooled MCPs which they use to determine critical parameters for stable detector operation.
Journal ArticleDOI
High resolution cross strip anodes for photon counting detectors
TL;DR: In this article, a new photon counting, imaging readout for microchannel plate sensors, the cross strip (XS) anode, was investigated, where charge centroiding of signals detected on two orthogonal layers of sense strip sets were used to derive photon locations.
