Journal ArticleDOI

Quantum dot solar cells

TL;DR: In this article, three QD solar cell configurations are described: (1) photoelectrodes comprising QD arrays, (2) QD-sensitized nanocrystalline TiO 2, and (3) QDs dispersed in a blend of electron- and hole-conducting polymers.
Journal ArticleDOI

Highly Efficient Multiple Exciton Generation in Colloidal PbSe and PbS Quantum Dots

TL;DR: It is found that the biexciton effect, which shifts the transition energy for absorption of a second photon, influences the early time transient absorption data and may contribute to a modulation observed when probing near the lowest interband transition.
Journal ArticleDOI

Peak external photocurrent quantum efficiency exceeding 100% via MEG in a quantum dot solar cell.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that MEG charge carriers can be collected in suitably designed QD solar cells, providing ample incentive to better understand MEG within isolated and coupled QDs as a research path to enhancing the efficiency of solar light harvesting technologies.
Journal ArticleDOI

Solar conversion efficiency of photovoltaic and photoelectrolysis cells with carrier multiplication absorbers

TL;DR: In this article, the maximum power conversion efficiency for conversion of solar radiation to electrical power or to a flux of chemical free energy for the case of hydrogen production from water photoelectrolysis was calculated.
