Journal ArticleDOI

Mechanism of Amphotericin B Resistance in Clinical Isolates of Leishmania donovani.

TL;DR: It can be concluded that altered membrane composition, ATP-binding cassette transporters, and an upregulated thiol metabolic pathway have a role in conferring amphotericin B resistance in clinical isolates of Leishmania donovani.
Journal ArticleDOI

Leishmania infection activates host mTOR for its survival by M2 macrophage polarization.

TL;DR: It is observed that inhibition of M2 macrophage polarization reduced Leishmania survival inside macrophages, suggesting that mTOR plays a crucial role in regulation of M1 macrophAGE polarization and direct the innate immune homeostasis towards parasite survival inside host.
Journal ArticleDOI

Proteome changes associated with Leishmania donovani promastigote adaptation to oxidative and nitrosative stresses.

TL;DR: Major changes were observed in enzymatic machinery of pathways involved in maintaining redox homeostasis, trypanothione metabolism, oxidative phosphorylation, superoxide metabolism, mitochondrial respiration process and other essential metabolic pathways, shed light on how Leishmania promastigotes counter ROS and RNS effects during the initial stage of infection.
