Journal ArticleDOI
Moving in unison after perceptual interruption.
Benoît G. Bardy,Carmela Calabrese,Pietro De Lellis,Stella Bourgeaud,Clémentine Colomer,Simon Pla,Mario di Bernardo +6 more
TL;DR: It is shown that behavioural unison can be maintained after perceptual contact has been lost, for about 7s, shed new light into why humans continue to move in unison after perceptual interruption, and are consequential for a wide variety of applications at work, in art and in sport.
Journal ArticleDOI
Using mimicry of body movements by a virtual agent to increase synchronization behavior and rapport in individuals with schizophrenia
Stéphane Raffard,Robin N. Salesse,Catherine Bortolon,Benoît G. Bardy,José Henriques,Ludovic Marin,Didier Stricker,Delphine Capdevielle +7 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that schizophrenia cannot be considered anymore as a disorder of imitation, particularly as regards behavioral synchronization processes in social interaction contexts.
Journal ArticleDOI
Rhythm disturbances as a potential early marker of Parkinson's disease in idiopathic REM sleep behavior disorder.
Valérie Cochen De Cock,Valérie Cochen De Cock,Delphine de Verbizier,Marie Christine Picot,Marie Christine Picot,Loic Damm,Beatriz Abril,Florence Galtier,Valérie Driss,C. Lebrun,Nicolas Pageot,Aurélie Giordano,Chloé Gonzalvez,Pascale Homeyer,Bertrand Carlander,Giovanni Castelnovo,Christian Geny,Benoît G. Bardy,Benoît G. Bardy,Simone Dalla Bella +19 more
TL;DR: It is shown that timing distortions in production and perception of rhythmic events in patients with idiopathic REM sleep behavior disorder (iRBD) as early markers of Parkinson's disease (PD) are identified.
Journal ArticleDOI
Beyond in-phase and anti-phase coordination in a model of joint action
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigate the behavior of the Haken-Kelso-Bunz (HKB) model in the full four-dimensional state space and reveal that the HKB model supports previously unreported dynamical regimes and bistability between a variety of coordination patterns.
Journal ArticleDOI
BeatWalk: Personalized Music-Based Gait Rehabilitation in Parkinson’s Disease
Valérie Cochen De Cock,Dobromir Dotov,Dobromir Dotov,Loic Damm,Sandy Lacombe,Petra Ihalainen,Marie Christine Picot,Marie Christine Picot,Florence Galtier,C. Lebrun,Aurélie Giordano,Valérie Driss,Christian Geny,Ainara Garzo,Erik Hernandez,Edith Van Dyck,Marc Leman,Rudi Villing,Benoît G. Bardy,Simone Dalla Bella +19 more
TL;DR: In this article, a smartphone application was coupled with wearable sensors (BeatWalk) and delivered individualized musical stimulation for gait auto-rehabilitation at home, where patients used the application 78.8% of the prescribed duration and enjoyed it throughout the program.
