Journal ArticleDOI
Screening patients with chest pain in the emergency department using electron beam tomography: a follow-up study
TL;DR: This study supports the use of EBT in a symptomatic cohort with prompt discharge of those patients with negative scans, and shows the absence of CAC is associated with a very low risk of future cardiac risk events in this population over the subsequent seven years.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prognostic Value of Coronary CT Angiography and Calcium Score for Major Adverse Cardiac Events in Outpatients
TL;DR: Cardiac CT seems to be a promising noninvasive modality with significant prognostic value and incremental value over routine risk factors for MACE, and coronary CTA is superior to CACS.
Journal ArticleDOI
Coronary artery motion during the cardiac cycle and optimal ECG triggering for coronary artery imaging.
Bin Lu,Songshou Mao,Nan Zhuang,Hamid Bakhsheshi,Hideya Yamamoto,Junichiro Takasu,Steve C. K. Liu,Matthew J. Budoff +7 more
TL;DR: The data demonstrated that the motion characteristics of the left circumflex artery were quite similar to those of the right coronary artery and that the left anterior descending coronary artery had no significant differences in motion throughout the cardiac cycle.
Journal ArticleDOI
International Impact of COVID-19 on the Diagnosis of Heart Disease.

TL;DR: The International Atomic Energy Agency conducted a worldwide survey assessing alterations in cardiovascular procedure volumes and safety practices resulting from the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI
Inhibiting progression of coronary calcification using Aged Garlic Extract in patients receiving statin therapy: a preliminary study.
Matthew J. Budoff,Junichiro Takasu,Ferdinand Flores,Yutaka Niihara,Bin Lu,Benjamin H. Lau,Robert T. Rosen,Harunobu Amagase +7 more
TL;DR: This small pilot study indicates the potential ability of AGE to inhibit the rate of progression of coronary calcification, as compared to placebo over 1 year, and garlic may prove useful for patients who are at high risk of future cardiovascular events.
