Journal ArticleDOI
Imaging breast cancer using hyperpolarized carbon-13 MRI.
Ferdia A. Gallagher,Ramona Woitek,Ramona Woitek,Mary A. McLean,Andrew B. Gill,Raquel Manzano Garcia,Elena Provenzano,Frank Riemer,Joshua D. Kaggie,Anita Chhabra,Stephan Ursprung,James T. Grist,Charlie J. Daniels,Fulvio Zaccagna,Marie-Christine Laurent,Matthew Locke,Sarah Hilborne,Amy Frary,Turid Torheim,Chris Boursnell,Amy Schiller,Ilse Patterson,Rhys Slough,Bruno Carmo,Justine Kane,Heather Biggs,Emma Harrison,Surrin S. Deen,Andrew J. Patterson,Titus Lanz,Zoya Kingsbury,Mark T. Ross,Bristi Basu,Richard D. Baird,David J. Lomas,Evis Sala,James Wason,James Wason,Oscar M. Rueda,Suet-Feung Chin,Ian B. Wilkinson,Martin J. Graves,Jean Abraham,Fiona J. Gilbert,Carlos Caldas,Kevin M. Brindle +45 more
TL;DR: Imaging of hyperpolarized [1-13C]pyruvate metabolism in breast cancer is feasible and demonstrated significant intertumoral and intratumoral metabolic heterogeneity, where lactate labeling correlated with MCT1 expression and hypoxia.
Journal ArticleDOI
The effect of capped biparametric magnetic resonance imaging slots on weekly prostate cancer imaging workload
Nikita Sushentsev,Iztok Caglic,Evis Sala,Nadeem Shaida,Rhys Slough,Bruno Carmo,V V Kozlov,Vincent J. Gnanapragasam,Tristan Barrett +8 more
TL;DR: A significant reduction in weekly variation of AS cases was demonstrated following the introduction of capped bpMRI slots, which can be used for more accurate long-term planning of MRI workload.
Journal ArticleDOI
Magnetic resonance fingerprinting of the pancreas at 1.5 T and 3.0 T
Eva M. Serrao,Dimitri A. Kessler,Dimitri A. Kessler,Bruno Carmo,Bruno Carmo,Lucian Beer,Lucian Beer,Kevin M. Brindle,Guido Buonincontri,Ferdia A. Gallagher,Ferdia A. Gallagher,Fiona J. Gilbert,Fiona J. Gilbert,Edmund M. Godfrey,Martin J. Graves,Martin J. Graves,Mary A. McLean,Mary A. McLean,Evis Sala,Evis Sala,Rolf F. Schulte,Joshua D. Kaggie,Joshua D. Kaggie +22 more
TL;DR: This work investigates the feasibility of MRF parameter mapping for pancreatic imaging in the presence of free-breathing exam and demonstrates the potential to add value during the clinical characterisation and grading of pathological conditions, such as pancreatitis or cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Non-contrast MRI can accurately characterize adnexal masses: a retrospective study.
Hilal Sahin,Camilla Panico,Stephan Ursprung,Vittorio Simeon,Paolo Chiodini,Amy Frary,Bruno Carmo,Janette Smith,Sue Freeman,Mercedes Jimenez-Linan,Helen Bolton,Krishnayan Haldar,Joo Ern Ang,Caroline Reinhold,Evis Sala,Helen Addley +15 more
TL;DR: In this article, a non-contrast MRI score of ≥ 4 was associated with malignancy with a sensitivity of 84.9%, a specificity of 95.9, an accuracy of 94.2% and a positive likelihood ratio of 21.
Journal ArticleDOI
Multiparametric MRI of early tumor response to immune checkpoint blockade in metastatic melanoma.
Doreen Lau,Mary A. McLean,Andrew N. Priest,Andrew B. Gill,Francis Scott,Ilse Patterson,Bruno Carmo,Frank Riemer,Joshua D. Kaggie,Amy Frary,Doreen Milne,Catherine Booth,Arthur Lewis,Michal Sulikowski,Lee Brown,Jean-Martin Lapointe,Luigi Aloj,Martin J. Graves,Kevin M. Brindle,Pippa Corrie,Ferdia A. Gallagher +20 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated early microstructural and functional changes within melanoma metastases following immune checkpoint blockade using multiparametric MRI and found that tumor heterogeneity, as measured by apparent diffusional kurtosis (Kapp), was consistently higher in the pseudoprogressive and true progressive lesions.
