Journal ArticleDOI
Magnetic Tweezers: Micromanipulation and Force Measurement at the Molecular Level
Charlie Gosse,Vincent Croquette +1 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that magnetic tweezers represent a low-cost and biocompatible setup that could become a suitable alternative to the other available micromanipulators.
Journal ArticleDOI
Quadruplex-Based Molecular Beacons as Tunable DNA Probes
Anne Bourdoncle,A. Estevez Torres,Charlie Gosse,Laurent Lacroix,P. Vekhoff,T. Le Saux,Ludovic Jullien,Jean-Louis Mergny +7 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated in this report that the preceding structure can be replaced by a G-quadruplex motif (G4), extending the sequence repertoire of quadruplex formation and the thermodynamic and kinetic opportunities provided by using G4-MB instead of traditional MB.
Journal ArticleDOI
Quantitative microfluidic separation of DNA in self-assembled magnetic matrixes.
Nicolas Minc,Claus Fütterer,Kevin D. Dorfman,Aurélien Bancaud,Charlie Gosse,Cécile Goubault,Jean-Louis Viovy +6 more
TL;DR: The possibility of achieving fast microfluidic separation of large DNA on a routine basis is demonstrated and reasonable quantitative agreement is achieved for band broadening for longer DNA (2lambda and T4) when the average postengagement time is measured experimentally.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparative genomics of 10 new Caenorhabditis species.
Lewis Stevens,Marie-Anne Félix,Toni Beltran,Christian Braendle,Carlos Caurcel,Sarah Fausett,David H. A. Fitch,Lise Frézal,Charlie Gosse,Taniya Kaur,Karin Kiontke,Matthew D. Newton,Luke M. Noble,Aurélien Richaud,Matthew V. Rockman,Walter Sudhaus,Mark Blaxter +16 more
TL;DR: This work presents species descriptions for 10 new Caenorhabditis species and presents draft genome sequences for nine of these new species, along with a transcriptome assembly for one, and exploits whole‐genome data to reconstruct the Caenorsedis phylogeny and use this phylogenetic tree to dissect the evolution of morphology in the genus.
Journal ArticleDOI
Spatiotemporal control of microtubule nucleation and assembly using magnetic nanoparticles
Céline Hoffmann,Elsa Mazari,Sylvie Lallet,Roland Le Borgne,Roland Le Borgne,Valérie Marchi,Charlie Gosse,Zoher Gueroui +7 more
TL;DR: It is shown that magnetic nanoparticles conjugated with key regulatory proteins can artificially control, in time and space, the Ran/RCC1 signalling pathway that regulates the cell cytoskeleton.
