Journal ArticleDOI
Glypican-1 identifies cancer exosomes and detects early pancreatic cancer
Sonia A. Melo,Linda B. Luecke,Christoph Kahlert,Agustín F. Fernández,Seth T. Gammon,Judith Kaye,Valerie S. LeBleu,Elizabeth A. Mittendorf,Juergen Weitz,Nuh N. Rahbari,Christoph Reissfelder,Christian Pilarsky,Mario F. Fraga,David Piwnica-Worms,Raghu Kalluri +14 more
TL;DR: GPC1+ crExos may serve as a potential non-invasive diagnostic and screening tool to detect early stages of pancreatic cancer to facilitate possible curative surgical therapy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Antigen-specific Tregs control T cell responses against a limited repertoire of tumor antigens in patients with colorectal carcinoma
Andreas Bonertz,Jürgen Weitz,Dong Ho Kim Pietsch,Nuh N. Rahbari,Christoph Schlude,Yingzi Ge,Simone Juenger,Israel Vlodavsky,Khashayarsha Khazaie,Dirk Jaeger,Christoph Reissfelder,Dalibor Antolovic,Maximilian Aigner,Moritz Koch,Philipp Beckhove +14 more
TL;DR: Differences in the repertoires of antigens recognized by Tregs and effector/memory T cells in the majority of colorectal cancer patients are detected, suggesting that the selection of antIGens according to preexisting T cell responses may improve the efficacy of future immunotherapies for cancer and autoimmune disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
Anti-VEGF therapy induces ECM remodeling and mechanical barriers to therapy in colorectal cancer liver metastases
Nuh N. Rahbari,Nuh N. Rahbari,Dmitriy Kedrin,Joao Incio,Hao Liu,William Ho,William Ho,Hadi Tavakoli Nia,Christina M. Edrich,Keehoon Jung,Julien Daubriac,Ivy X. Chen,Takahiro Heishi,John D. Martin,Yuhui Huang,Nir Maimon,Christoph Reissfelder,Jürgen Weitz,Yves Boucher,Jeffrey W. Clark,Alan J. Grodzinsky,Dan G. Duda,Rakesh K. Jain,Dai Fukumura +23 more
TL;DR: The researchers found that VEGF inhibition increased the stiffness of colorectal cancer liver metastases, making them more difficult to treat with chemotherapy, and suggested that extracellular matrix components such as HA could be a potential therapeutic target for reducing physical barriers to systemic treatments in patients with mCRC who receive anti-VEGF therapy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Overexpression of ZEB2 at the Invasion Front of Colorectal Cancer Is an Independent Prognostic Marker and Regulates Tumor Invasion In Vitro
Christoph Kahlert,Saleh Lahes,Praveen Radhakrishnan,Shamik Dutta,Carolin Mogler,Esther Herpel,Karsten Brand,Gunnar Steinert,Martin Schneider,Martin Mollenhauer,Christoph Reissfelder,Fee Klupp,Johannes Fritzmann,Christina Wunder,Axel Benner,Matthias Kloor,Cathrin Huth,Pietro Contin,Alexis Ulrich,Moritz Koch,Juergen Weitz +20 more
TL;DR: Overexpression of ZEB2 at the invasion front correlates with tumor progression and predicts cancer-specific survival in primary colorectal cancer, and may be interesting as biomarker and potential target for treatment of colorective cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Circulating tumour cells and outcome in non-metastatic colorectal cancer: a prospective study.
Ulrich Bork,Nuh N. Rahbari,Sebastian Schölch,Christoph Reissfelder,Christoph Kahlert,M.W. Büchler,Juergen Weitz,Moritz Koch +7 more
TL;DR: Preoperative CTC detection is a strong and independent prognostic marker in non-metastatic CRC and was significantly associated with worse overall survival.
