Book ChapterDOI
Thermal and Non-thermal Emission from Circumstellar Interaction
TL;DR: In this article, different physical processes involved in supernova interaction, including hydrodynamics, thermal X-ray emission, acceleration of relativistic particles and non-emission processes in the radio and Xray ranges are reviewed.
Journal ArticleDOI
CONSTRAINTS ON EXPLOSIVE SILICON BURNING IN CORE-COLLAPSE SUPERNOVAE FROM MEASURED Ni/Fe RATIOS
Anders Jerkstrand,Francis Timmes,Francis Timmes,Georgios Magkotsios,Stuart A. Sim,Claes Fransson,Jason Spyromilio,Bernhard Müller,Alexander Heger,Alexander Heger,Alexander Heger,Jesper Sollerman,Stephen J. Smartt +12 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigate constraints on explosive conditions derived from measured amounts of nickel and iron after radioactive decays using nucleosynthesis networks with parameterized thermodynamic trajectories.
Journal ArticleDOI
The X-ray and radio emission from SN 2002ap: The importance of Compton scattering
C. I. Bjornsson,Claes Fransson +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the radio and X-ray observations of the Type Ic supernova SN 2002ap were modeled and it was shown that inverse Compton cooling by photospheric photons explains the observed steep radio spectrum, and also the Xray flux observed by XMM, and that the energy densities of magnetic fields and relativistic electrons are close to equipartion.
Journal ArticleDOI
A UV resonance line echo from a shell around a hydrogen-poor superluminous supernova
Ragnhild Lunnan,Ragnhild Lunnan,Claes Fransson,Paul Vreeswijk,S. E. Woosley,Giorgos Leloudas,Daniel A. Perley,Robert M. Quimby,Robert M. Quimby,Lin Yan,N. Blagorodnova,Brian D. Bue,S. B. Cenko,S. B. Cenko,A. De Cia,David O. Cook,Christoffer Fremling,Pradip Gatkine,Avishay Gal-Yam,Mansi M. Kasliwal,Shrinivas R. Kulkarni,Frank J. Masci,Peter Nugent,Peter Nugent,A. Nyholm,Adam Rubin,Nao Suzuki,P. Wozniak +27 more
TL;DR: A class of rare and energetic superluminous supernovae (SLSN-I) have been discovered in untargeted transient surveys in the past decade as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Spectroscopy of the Type Ia supernova 2011fe past 1000 d
S. Taubenberger,Nancy Elias-Rosa,Nancy Elias-Rosa,Wolfgang Kerzendorf,Stephan Hachinger,Jason Spyromilio,Claes Fransson,M. Kromer,Ashley J. Ruiter,Ashley J. Ruiter,Ivo R. Seitenzahl,Ivo R. Seitenzahl,S. Benetti,Enrico Cappellaro,A. Pastorello,Massimo Turatto,A. Marchetti +16 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present an optical spectrum of SN 2011fe taken 1034 d after the explosion, several hundred days later than any other spectrum of a Type Ia supernova (disregarding light-echo spectra and Local Group remnants).
