Journal ArticleDOI
Isoprene oxidation mechanisms: measurements and modelling of OH and HO 2 over a South-East Asian tropical rainforest during the OP3 field campaign
Daniel Stone,Mathew J. Evans,Peter Edwards,Roisin Commane,Roisin Commane,Trevor Ingham,Andrew R. Rickard,D. M. Brookes,James R. Hopkins,Roland Leigh,A. C. Lewis,Paul S. Monks,D. E. Oram,Claire E. Reeves,D. J. Stewart,D. J. Stewart,Dwayne E. Heard +16 more
TL;DR: In this article, an observationally constrained box model was used to assess the atmospheric chemistry of volatile organic compounds in tropical forests, with isoprene being the most significant species, and the standard model based on MCM chemistry significantly underestimates the observed OH concentrations.
Journal ArticleDOI
HO x observations over West Africa during AMMA: impact of isoprene and NO x
Daniel Stone,Mathew J. Evans,Roisin Commane,Roisin Commane,Trevor Ingham,Cedric F.A. Floquet,Cedric F.A. Floquet,James B. McQuaid,D. M. Brookes,Paul S. Monks,Ruth Purvis,Ruth Purvis,Jacqueline F. Hamilton,James R. Hopkins,James D. Lee,Alastair C. Lewis,D. J. Stewart,Jennifer G. Murphy,Jennifer G. Murphy,Graham P. Mills,D. E. Oram,Claire E. Reeves,Dwayne E. Heard +22 more
TL;DR: In this article, HO2 and HO2 measurements made over West Africa during the AMMA field campaign in summer 2006 have been investigated using a box model constrained to observations of long-lived species and physical parameters.
Journal ArticleDOI
Radical chemistry at night: comparisons between observed and modelled HO x , NO 3 and N 2 O 5 during the RONOCO project
Daniel Stone,Matthew Evans,Hannah Walker,Trevor Ingham,Stewart Vaughan,Bin Ouyang,O. J. Kennedy,M. W. McLeod,Roderic L. Jones,James R. Hopkins,Shalini Punjabi,Richard T. Lidster,J. F. Hamilton,James D. Lee,Alastair C. Lewis,Lucy J. Carpenter,G. Forster,D. E. Oram,Claire E. Reeves,Stephane Bauguitte,William T. Morgan,Hugh Coe,Eleonora Aruffo,Cesare Dari-Salisburgo,Franco Giammaria,P. Di Carlo,Dwayne E. Heard +26 more
TL;DR: The RONOCO (ROle of Nighttime chemistry in controlling the Oxidising Capacity of the AtmOsphere) aircraft campaign during July 2010 and January 2011 made observations of OH, HO2, NO3, N2O5 and a number of supporting measurements at night over the UK, and reflects the first simultaneous airborne measurements of these species as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Biomass burning emission disturbances of isoprene oxidation in a tropical forest
Fernando César Almada Santos,Karla M. Longo,Alex Guenther,Saewung Kim,Dasa Gu,D. E. Oram,G. Forster,James D. Lee,James R. Hopkins,Joel Brito,Saulo R. Freitas +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a characterization of the chemical composition of the atmosphere of the Brazilian Amazon rainforest based on trace gas measurements carried out during the South AMerican Biomass Burning Analysis (SAMBBA) airborne experiment in September 2012.
Journal Article
Isoprene emissions modelling for West Africa using MEGAN
Joana Ferreira,Claire E. Reeves,Jennifer G. Murphy,Luis Garcia-Carreras,Douglas J. Parker,D. E. Oram +5 more
TL;DR: Ferreira et al. as mentioned in this paper proposed an isoprene emissions modelling for West Africa using MEGAN J. Ferreira, C. E. Reeves, J. G. Murphy, L. Garcia-Carreras, D. J. Parker, and D.E. Oram School of Environmental Sciences.
