Journal ArticleDOI
Induced magnetic ordering by proton irradiation in graphite.
TL;DR: Evidence that proton irradiation of energy 2.25 MeV on highly oriented pyrolytic graphite samples triggers ferro- or ferrimagnetism is provided and magnetic ordering is stable at room temperature.
Journal ArticleDOI
Raman scattering in ZnO thin films doped with Fe, Sb, Al, Ga, and Li
Carsten Bundesmann,N. Ashkenov,Mathias Schubert,Daniel Spemann,Tilman Butz,E. M. Kaidashev,Michael Lorenz,Marius Grundmann +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the phonon modes of Fe, Sb, Al, Ga, and Li doped ZnO thin films, grown by pulsed-laser deposition on c-plane sapphire substrates, were investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Infrared dielectric functions and phonon modes of high-quality ZnO films
N. Ashkenov,B. N. Mbenkum,Carsten Bundesmann,V. Riede,Michael Lorenz,Daniel Spemann,E. M. Kaidashev,E. M. Kaidashev,A. Kasic,Mathias Schubert,Marius Grundmann,Gerald Wagner,Horst Neumann,Vanya Darakchieva,Hans Arwin,Bo Monemar +15 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a single crystalline and highly resistive wurtzite ZnO films were obtained from infrared (300-1200 cm−1) spectroscopic ellipsometry and Raman scattering studies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Myelin and iron concentration in the human brain: A quantitative study of MRI contrast
Carsten Stüber,Markus Morawski,Markus Morawski,Andreas Schäfer,Christian Labadie,Christian Labadie,Miriam Wähnert,Christoph Leuze,Markus Streicher,Nirav Barapatre,Katja Reimann,Stefan Geyer,Daniel Spemann,Robert Turner +13 more
TL;DR: Iron and myelin concentrations can now be estimated from appropriate MRI measurements in post-mortem brain samples from a linear model and accurately modeled MRI tissue contrasts.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ferromagnetism in oriented graphite samples
Pablo Esquinazi,Annette Setzer,Roland Höhne,C. Semmelhack,Yakov Kopelevich,Daniel Spemann,Tilman Butz,Bernd Kohlstrunk,Mathias Lösche +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, the magnetization of various well characterized samples of highly oriented pyrolitic graphite (HOPG), Kish graphite, and natural graphite was investigated to investigate the recently reported ferromagneticlike signal and its possible relation to magnetically impurities.
