TL;DR: Overall serious adverse events after AM were lower than previously reported, however, patients with left ventricular ejection fraction <50%, ventricular arrhythmias, or low cardiac output syndrome at presentation were at higher risk compared with uncomplicated cases that had a benign prognosis and low risk of subsequentleft ventricular systolic dysfunction.
Journal ArticleDOI
Exercise response after rapid intravenous infusion of saline in healthy humans
H. Thomas Robertson,Riccardo Pellegrino,Daniela Pini,Jacopo Oreglia,Stefano DeVita,Vito Brusasco,Piergiuseppe Agostoni +6 more
TL;DR: F infusion of saline to normal subjects before exercise failed to reproduce either the increase in Vd/Vt or the smaller exercise Vt described in heart failure patients, and the reduction in maximal power output, maximal O(2) uptake, and heart rate after saline infusion may be linked to accumulation of edema fluid in exercising muscle, impairing the diffusion of O( 2) to muscle mitochondria.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fulminant myocarditis triggered by OC43 subtype coronavirus: a disease deserving evidence-based care bundles.
Giacomo Veronese,Manlio Cipriani,Maurizio Bottiroli,Andrea Garascia,Michele Mondino,Patrizia Pedrotti,Daniela Pini,Ottavia Cozzi,Antonio Messina,Ginevra Droandi,Duccio Petrella,Maria Frigerio,Enrico Ammirati +12 more
TL;DR: Echocardiographic findings revealed a nondilated, severely hypocontractile left ventricle (LV) (ejection fraction 30%), with increased diffuse wall thickness (septal and posterior wall, 12 mm), and right ventricular dysfunction was present.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: It is suggested that caution should be paid during the administration of additional vaccine doses in individuals who experienced an increase in IMD severity that persisted over time following previous vaccine shots.
