High-field superconductivity in alloyed MgB 2 thin films
Valeria Braccini,Alex Gurevich,J. E. Giencke,M. C. Jewell,C. B. Eom,David C. Larbalestier,Alexej Pogrebnyakov,Y. Cui,B. T. Liu,Y. F. Hu,J. M. Redwing,Qi Li,X. X. Xi,Rakesh Kumar Singh,R. Gandikota,Jeonghwan Kim,B. J. Wilkens,Nathan Newman,J. M. Rowell,B. H. Moeckly,V. Ferrando,Chiara Tarantini,Daniele Marré,Marina Putti,Carlo Ferdeghini,Ruggero Vaglio,E. Haanappel +26 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of alloying on the upper critical field was investigated for 12 C-alloyed films, in which disorder was introduced by growth, carbon doping or He-ion irradiation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Origin of Interface Magnetism in BiMnO 3 /SrTiO 3 and LaAlO 3 /SrTiO 3 Heterostructures
Marco Salluzzo,Stefano Gariglio,Daniela Stornaiuolo,Violetta Sessi,Stefano Rusponi,Cinthia Piamonteze,G. M. De Luca,Matteo Minola,Daniele Marré,A. Gadaleta,Harald Brune,Frithjof Nolting,N. B. Brookes,Giacomo Claudio Ghiringhelli +13 more
TL;DR: It is shown that a confined magnetism is realized at the interface between SrTiO3 and two insulating polar oxides, BiMnO 3 and LaAlO3, and in both cases the magnetism can be stabilized by a negative exchange interaction between the electrons transferred to the interface and local magnetic moments.
Journal ArticleDOI
Conducting interfaces between band insulating oxides: the LaGaO3/SrTiO3
Paolo Perna,Davide Maccariello,Milan Radovic,Umberto Scotti di Uccio,Ilaria Pallecchi,Marta Codda,Daniele Marré,Claudia Cantoni,Jaume Gazquez,Maria Varela,S. J. Pennycook,Fabio Miletto Granozio +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors show that the growth of the heterostructure LaGaO3/SrTiO3 yields the formation of a highly conductive interface, which opens the route to widening the field of polar-non polar interfaces, pose some phenomenological constrains to their underlying physics and highlight the chance of tailoring their properties for future applications.
Journal ArticleDOI
Multistate memory devices based on free-standing VO2/TiO2 microstructures driven by Joule self-heating.
Luca Pellegrino,Nicola Manca,Teruo Kanki,Hidekazu Tanaka,Michele Biasotti,Emilio Bellingeri,Antonio Sergio Siri,Daniele Marré +7 more
TL;DR: Two-terminal multistate memory elements based on VO(2)/TiO(2) thin film microcantilevers are reported, based on current-induced creation of metallic clusters by self-heating of micrometric suspended regions and resistive reading via percolation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Conducting interfaces between band insulating oxides: The LaGaO3/SrTiO3 heterostructure
Paolo Perna,Davide Maccariello,Milan Radovic,U. Scotti di Uccio,I. Pallecchi,M. Codda,Daniele Marré,Claudia Cantoni,Jaume Gazquez,Maria Varela,S. J. Pennycook,F. Miletto Granozio +11 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors show that the growth of the heterostructure LaGaO3/SrTiO3 yields the formation of a highly conductive interface, which opens the route to widening the field of polar-nonpolar interfaces, pose some phenomenological constrains to their underlying physics and highlight the chance of tailoring their properties for future applications by adopting suitable polar materials.
