Interleukin-5 (IL-5) Augments the Progression of Liver Fibrosis by Regulating IL-13 Activity

TL;DR: In addition to IL-5 polarizing the antigen-specific CD4+ Th2 cell response, it was found that granuloma eosinophils were themselves a significant source of IL-13, illustrating both direct and indirect roles for eos inophils and IL- 5 in the pathogenesis of schistosomiasis-induced liver fibrosis.

Assembly of RecA-like recombinases: distinct roles for mediator proteins in mitosis and meiosis.

TL;DR: Immuno-double-staining experiments in Saccharomyces cerevisiae suggest that Rad51, the eukaryotic recombinase, can assemble at or near sites containing ssb (replication protein A, RPA) during the response to DNA damage, consistent with a need for mediator activity.
