Blockade of the Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Stress Response Increases the Antitumor Effects of Ionizing Radiation
David H. Gorski,Michael A. Beckett,Nora Jaskowiak,Douglas P. Calvin,Helena J. Mauceri,Rabih M. Salloum,Saraswathy Seetharam,Ann Koons,Danielle M. Hari,Donald Kufe,Ralph R. Weichselbaum +10 more
TL;DR: It is reported that VEGF expression is induced in Lewis lung carcinomas (LLCs) both in vitro and in vivo after exposure to ionizing radiation (IR) and in human tumor cell lines (Seg-1 esophageal adenocarcinoma, SQ20B squamous cell carcinoma, T98 and U87 glioblastomas, and U1 melanoma) in vitro.
Journal ArticleDOI
AJCC Cancer Staging Manual 7th Edition Criteria for Colon Cancer: Do the Complex Modifications Improve Prognostic Assessment?
Danielle M. Hari,Anna M. Leung,Jihey Lee,Myung-Shin Sim,Brooke Vuong,Connie G. Chiu,Anton J. Bilchik +6 more
TL;DR: The AJCC-7 staging of CC does not address all survival discrepancies, regardless of the number of lymph nodes examined, and consideration of other prognostic factors is critical for decisions about therapy, particularly for patients with stage II CC.
Journal ArticleDOI
High-Throughput GoMiner, an 'industrial-strength' integrative gene ontology tool for interpretation of multiple-microarray experiments, with application to studies of Common Variable Immune Deficiency (CVID)
Barry R. Zeeberg,Haiying Qin,Sudarshan Narasimhan,Margot Sunshine,Hong Cao,David W. Kane,Mark Reimers,Robert M. Stephens,David Bryant,Stanley K. Burt,Eldad Elnekave,Danielle M. Hari,Thomas A. Wynn,Charlotte Cunningham-Rundles,Donn M. Stewart,David E. Nelson,John N. Weinstein +16 more
TL;DR: High-Throughput GoMiner achieves the desired goal of providing a computational resource that automates the analysis of multiple microarrays and then integrates the results across all of them in useful exportable output files and visualizations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Interleukin-5 (IL-5) Augments the Progression of Liver Fibrosis by Regulating IL-13 Activity
Rachael M. Reiman,Robert W. Thompson,Carl G. Feng,Danielle M. Hari,Rachel Knight,Allen W. Cheever,Helene F. Rosenberg,Thomas A. Wynn +7 more
TL;DR: In addition to IL-5 polarizing the antigen-specific CD4+ Th2 cell response, it was found that granuloma eosinophils were themselves a significant source of IL-13, illustrating both direct and indirect roles for eos inophils and IL- 5 in the pathogenesis of schistosomiasis-induced liver fibrosis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Assembly of RecA-like recombinases: distinct roles for mediator proteins in mitosis and meiosis.
Stephen L. Gasior,Heidi Olivares,Uy Ear,Danielle M. Hari,Ralph R. Weichselbaum,Douglas K. Bishop +5 more
TL;DR: Immuno-double-staining experiments in Saccharomyces cerevisiae suggest that Rad51, the eukaryotic recombinase, can assemble at or near sites containing ssb (replication protein A, RPA) during the response to DNA damage, consistent with a need for mediator activity.
