Metastasis is regulated via microRNA-200/ZEB1 axis control of tumour cell PD-L1 expression and intratumoral immunosuppression
Limo Chen,Don L. Gibbons,Sangeeta Goswami,Maria Angelica Cortez,Young Ho Ahn,Lauren Averett Byers,Xuejun Zhang,Xiaohui Yi,David Dwyer,Wei Lin,Lixia Diao,Jing Wang,Jonathon D. Roybal,Mayuri Patel,Christin Ungewiss,David H. Peng,Scott J. Antonia,Melanie Mediavilla-Varela,Gordon Robertson,Steve Jones,Milind Suraokar,James W. Welsh,Baruch Erez,Ignacio I. Wistuba,Lieping Chen,Di Peng,Shanshan Wang,Stephen E. Ullrich,John V. Heymach,Jonathan M. Kurie,F. Xiao Feng Qin,F. Xiao Feng Qin +31 more
TL;DR: A molecular link between epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and CD8+ TIL immunosuppression and cancer progression is demonstrated and ZEB1 promotes metastasis through a heretofore unappreciated cell non-autonomous mechanism, and subgroups of patients in whom malignant progression is driven by EMT activators may respond to treatment with PD-L1 antagonists.
Journal ArticleDOI
CD38-mediated immunosuppression as a mechanism of tumor cell escape from PD-1/PD-l1 blockade
Limo Chen,Lixia Diao,Yongbin Yang,Xiaohui Yi,B. Leticia Rodriguez,Y. Li,Y. Li,Pamela Villalobos,Tina Cascone,Xi Liu,Lin Tan,Philip L. Lorenzi,Anfei Huang,Qiang Zhao,Di Peng,Jared J. Fradette,David H. Wistuba,John V. Heymach,F. Xiao Feng Qin,F. Xiao Feng Qin,Don L. Gibbons +39 more
TL;DR: It is observed that tumors treated with PD-1/PD-L1 blocking antibodies develop resistance through the upregulation of CD38, which is induced by all-trans retinoic acid and IFNβ in the tumor microenvironment, providing a novel mechanism of acquired resistance to immune checkpoint therapy.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Novel Function of F-Box Protein FBXO17 in Negative Regulation of Type I IFN Signaling by Recruiting PP2A for IFN Regulatory Factor 3 Deactivation
TL;DR: It is found that FBXO17 specifically interacts with IFN regulatory factor 3 (IRF3) and decreases its dimerization and nuclear translocation and a novel mechanism for IRF3 deactivation by F-box protein-mediated recruitment of PP2A is demonstrated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Growth and metastasis of lung adenocarcinoma is potentiated by BMP4-mediated immunosuppression.
Limo Chen,Xiaohui Yi,Sangeeta Goswami,Young Ho Ahn,Jonathon D. Roybal,Yongbin Yang,Lixia Diao,Di Peng,David H. Peng,Jared J. Fradette,Jing Wang,Lauren Averett Byers,Jonathan M. Kurie,Stephen E. Ullrich,F. Xiao Feng Qin,Don L. Gibbons +15 more
TL;DR: It is shown in a KrasLA1/+p53R172HΔg/+-based mouse model that bone morphogenetic protein-4 augments the expression of the T cell co-inhibitory receptor ligand PD-L1 in the mesenchymal subset of lung cancer cells, leading to profound CD8+ T cell-mediated immunosuppression, producing tumor growth and metastasis.
Journal ArticleDOI
The m6A reader YTHDC1 regulates muscle stem cell proliferation via PI4K-Akt-mTOR signalling.
Jin Liu,Hongna Zuo,Zi-Ying Wang,Wei Wang,Xuezhen Qian,Ying-Yuan Xie,Di Peng,Yubin Xie,Liquan Hong,Wanling You,Huiling Lou,Guanzheng Luo,Jian Ren,Bin Shen,Jin-ping Zheng,Hu Wang,Zhenyu Ju +16 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors showed that the m6A reader Ythdc1 is indispensable for mouse skeletal muscle regeneration and proliferation of muscle stem cells, and they showed that in the absence of this reader, muscle cells in adult mice are unable to exit from quiescence.
