WFPC2 Observations of the Hubble Deep Field-South
Stefano Casertano,Stefano Casertano,Duilia F. de Mello,Mark Dickinson,Henry C. Ferguson,Andrew S. Fruchter,Rosa A. Gonzalez-Lopezlira,Inge Heyer,R. Hook,Zolt Levay,Ray A. Lucas,Jennifer Mack,Russell B. Makidon,Max Mutchler,T. Ed Smith,Massimo Stiavelli,Massimo Stiavelli,Michael S. Wiggs,Robert Williams +18 more
TL;DR: The Hubble Deep Field-South observations targeted a high-galactic-latitude field near QSO J2233-606. as discussed by the authors presented WFPC2 observations of the field in four wide bandpasses centered at roughly 300, 450, 606, and 814 nm.
Journal ArticleDOI
NGC 6845: metallicity gradients and star formation in a complex compact group
D. Olave-Rojas,S. Torres-Flores,Eleazar R. Carrasco,C. Mendes de Oliveira,Duilia F. de Mello,S. Scarano +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors derived the gas-phase metallicity gradients across NGC 6845A and its two tails and found that these are shallower than those for isolated galaxies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Rest-frame uv versus optical morphologies of galaxies using sérsic profile fitting: the importance of morphological k-correction
TL;DR: In this paper, a comparison of the rest-frame UV morphologies of a sample of 162 intermediate-redshift (z median = 1.02) galaxies with their restframe optical morphologies is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
What turns galaxies off? The different morphologies of star-forming and quiescent galaxies since z~2 from CANDELS
Eric F. Bell,Arjen van der Wel,Casey Papovich,Dale D. Kocevski,Jennifer M. Lotz,Daniel H. McIntosh,Jeyhan S. Kartaltepe,S. M. Faber,Henry C. Ferguson,Anton M. Koekemoer,Norman A. Grogin,Stijn Wuyts,Edmond Cheung,Christopher J. Conselice,Avishai Dekel,James S. Dunlop,Mauro Giavalisco,Jessica Herrington,David C. Koo,Elizabeth J. McGrath,Duilia F. de Mello,Duilia F. de Mello,Hans-Walter Rix,Aday R. Robaina,Christina C. Williams +24 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors explore the relationship between rest-frame optical color, stellar mass, star formation activity and galaxy structure and find that the vast majority of quiescent systems have concentrated light profiles, as parametrized by the Sersic index, and the population of concentrated galaxies grows similarly rapidly.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Wavelength Dependence of High-Redshift Galaxy Structure in the Rest-Frame Ultraviolet
Nicholas A. Bond,Jonathan P. Gardner,Duilia F. de Mello,Harry I. Teplitz,Marc Rafelski,Anton M. Koekemoer,Dan Coe,Norman A. Grogin,Eric Gawiser,Swara Ravindranath,Claudia Scarlata +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the rest-frame UV wavelength dependence of the Petrosian-like half-light radius was analyzed for 198 star-forming galaxies at 0.5 < z < 1.5.
