CANDELS: The Cosmic Assembly Near-infrared Deep Extragalactic Legacy Survey

Norman A. Grogin, +108 more
TL;DR: The Cosmic Assembly Near-IR Deep Extragalactic Legacy Survey (CANDELS) as discussed by the authors was designed to document the first third of galactic evolution, from z approx. 8 - 1.5 to test their accuracy as standard candles for cosmology.
Journal ArticleDOI

What Do We Learn from IRAC Observations of Galaxies at 2 < z < 3.5?

TL;DR: In this article, very deep HST, VLT, and Spitzer photometry of galaxies at 2 2 galaxies was analyzed and it was shown that the estimated distributions of these properties do not change significantly when IRAC data are added to the UBVIJHK photometry.
Journal ArticleDOI

CANDELS: constraining the AGN-merger connection with host morphologies at z ~ 2

TL;DR: In this paper, the role of major galaxy mergers in triggering active galactic nucleus (AGN) activity at z ~ 2 was examined using the Hubble Space Telescope/WFC3 imaging taken as part of the Cosmic Assembly Near-infrared Deep Extragalactic Legacy Survey.
