Journal ArticleDOI
Effectiveness of a 6-year multidomain vascular care intervention to prevent dementia (preDIVA): a cluster-randomised controlled trial
Eric P. Moll van Charante,Edo Richard,Lisa S. M. Eurelings,Jan-Willem van Dalen,Suzanne A. Ligthart,Emma F. van Bussel,Marieke P. Hoevenaar-Blom,Marinus Vermeulen,Willem A. van Gool +8 more
TL;DR: A nurse-led, multidomain intervention did not result in a reduced incidence of all-cause dementia in an unselected population of older people, and the efficacy of such interventions in selected populations should be assessed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Post-stroke dementia - a comprehensive review
Milija Mijajlovic,Aleksandra M. Pavlović,Michael Brainin,Wolf-Dieter Heiss,Terence J. Quinn,Hege Ihle-Hansen,Dirk M. Hermann,Einor Ben Assayag,Edo Richard,Alexander Thiel,Efrat Kliper,Yong Il Shin,Yun Hee Kim,Seong Hye Choi,San Jung,Yeong Bae Lee,Osman Sinanović,Deborah Levine,Ilana Schlesinger,Ilana Schlesinger,Gillian Mead,Vuk Milošević,Didier Leys,Guri Hagberg,Marie Helene Ursin,Yvonne Teuschl,S. V. Prokopenko,Elena Mozheyko,Anna Bezdenezhnykh,Karl Matz,Vuk Aleksić,Dafin F. Muresanu,Amos D. Korczyn,Natan M. Bornstein +33 more
TL;DR: PSD is proposed as a label for any dementia following stroke in temporal relation and no specific biomarkers have been proven to robustly discriminate vulnerable patients (‘at risk brains’) from those with better prognosis or to discriminate Alzheimer’s disease dementia from PSD.
Journal ArticleDOI
Late-life depression, mild cognitive impairment, and dementia.
Edo Richard,Christiane Reitz,Lawrence H. Honig,Nicole Schupf,Ming X. Tang,Jennifer J. Manly,Richard Mayeux,Devangere P. Devanand,José A. Luchsinger +8 more
TL;DR: The association of depression with prevalent MCI and with progression from MCI to dementia, but not with incident MCI, suggests that depression accompanies cognitive impairment but does not precede it.
Journal ArticleDOI

Bo Norrving,Jon Barrick,A. Dávalos,Martin Dichgans,Charlotte Cordonnier,Alla Guekht,Kürşad Kutluk,Robert Mikulik,Joanna M. Wardlaw,Edo Richard,Darius Nabavi,Carlos A. Molina,Philip M.W. Bath,Katharina S. Sunnerhagen,Anthony Rudd,Avril Drummond,Anna M. Planas,Valeria Caso +17 more
TL;DR: The ESAP provides a basic road map and sets targets for the implementation of evidence-based preventive actions and stroke services to 2030 and overall, 30 targets and 72 research priorities were identified for the seven domains.
Journal ArticleDOI
Apathy in Parkinson's disease: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Melina G.H.E. den Brok,Jan Willem van Dalen,Willem A. van Gool,Eric P. Moll van Charante,Rob M.A. de Bie,Edo Richard +5 more
TL;DR: It is found that apathy affects almost 40% of patients with PD, and treatment of apathy could improve patient quality of life, reduce caregiver burden, alleviate disability by increasing motivation for self‐care, and reduce cognitive impairment by improving executive functioning.
