Journal ArticleDOI
Metabolic Competition in the Tumor Microenvironment Is a Driver of Cancer Progression
Chih-Hao Chang,Jing Qiu,David O’Sullivan,Michael D. Buck,Takuro Noguchi,Jonathan D. Curtis,Qiongyu Chen,Mariel Gindin,Matthew M. Gubin,Gerritje J.W. van der Windt,Elena Tonc,Robert D. Schreiber,Edward J. Pearce,Erika L. Pearce +13 more
TL;DR: It is shown that tumor-imposed metabolic restrictions can mediate T cell hyporesponsiveness during cancer, and it is found that blocking PD-L1 directly on tumors dampens glycolysis by inhibiting mTOR activity and decreasing expression of gly colysis enzymes.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Transcription Factor AP4 Mediates Resolution of Chronic Viral Infection through Amplification of Germinal Center B Cell Responses.
Chun Chou,Daniel Verbaro,Elena Tonc,Melanie Holmgren,Marina Cella,Marco Colonna,Deepta Bhattacharya,Takeshi Egawa +7 more
TL;DR: It is shown that the transcription factor AP4 was required for sustained GC B cell proliferation and subsequent establishment of a diverse and protective antibody repertoire and B-cell-specific deletion of AP4 resulted in reduced GC sizes and reduced somatic hypermutation coupled with a failure to control chronic viral infection.
Journal ArticleDOI
Identification of a T-bethi Quiescent Exhausted CD8 T Cell Subpopulation That Can Differentiate into TIM3+CX3CR1+ Effectors and Memory-like Cells.
Saravanan Raju,Yu Xia,Bence Daniel,Kathryn E. Yost,Elliot Bradshaw,Elena Tonc,Daniel Verbaro,Kohei Kometani,Wayne M. Yokoyama,Tomohiro Kurosaki,Ansuman T. Satpathy,Takeshi Egawa +11 more
TL;DR: In this article, the T-bet-dependent TIM3-CX3CR1+ CD8 T cells contain a T-Bet-dependent PD-1 subpopulation that is distinct from the TIM3+CX 3 CR1+PD-1+ proliferative effector subset.
Posted ContentDOI
Latent Plasticity of Effector-like Exhausted CD8 T cells contributes to memory responses
Saravanan Raju,Yu Xia,Bence Daniel,Kathryn E. Yost,Elliot Bradshaw,Elena Tonc,Daniel Verbaro,Ansuman T. Satpathy,Takeshi Egawa +8 more
TL;DR: Subsets of PD-1+ CD8 T cells during chronic infection marked by expression of CX3CR1 with substantial in situ proliferation and high expression of granzyme B are defined, offering a prime target for novel immunotherapies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Immune mechanisms in vulvodynia: key roles for mast cells and fibroblasts
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors synthesize epidemiological investigations, clinical biopsies and primary cell culture studies, and mechanistic insights from several pre-clinical models of vulvar pain.
