Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of nanoclay on natural rubber microstructure

TL;DR: In this paper, the molecular structure of the polymer network and its morphological changes during deformation were characterized by using broadband dielectric spectroscopy and in situ synchrotron wide-angle X-ray diffraction, respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI

Efficient CO2 Sorbents Based on Silica Foam with Ultra-large Mesopores

TL;DR: In this article, a series of high capacity amine impregnated sorbents based on a cost-effective silica foam with ultra-large mesopores is reported, which exhibit fast CO2 capture kinetics, high adsorption capacity (of up to 5.8 mmol g−1 under 1 atm of dry CO2), as well as good stability over multiple ad-desorption cycles.
Journal ArticleDOI

Generalized Route to Metal Nanoparticles with Liquid Behavior

TL;DR: A thiol-containing ionic liquid is introduced, N,N-dioctyl-N-(3-mercaptopropyl)-N-methylammonium bromide, which serves as a ligand for platinum, gold, palladium, and rhodium nanoparticles and generates nanoparticles with tunable sizes and size distributions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Metal-insulator molecular multilayers of electroactive polymers intercalation of polyaniline in mica-type layered silicates

TL;DR: In this paper, high-oriented multilayered polyaniline is fabricated by intercalative polymerization of aniline in fluorohectorite, a synthetic mica-type silicate.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dynamical heterogeneity in nanoconfined poly(styrene) chains

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors apply nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy to nanoscopically confined poly(styrene) created by intercalation into a surface modified fluorohectorite.
