Dust Attenuation Curves at z $\sim$ 0.8 from LEGA-C: Precise Constraints on the Slope and 2175$\AA$ Bump Strength

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors measured the attenuation curves of 485 individual star-forming galaxies with M$_*$ $>$ 10$^{10}$ M$_{\odot}$ based on deep optical spectra from the VLT/VIMOS LEGA-C survey and multi-band photometry in the COSMOS field.
Journal ArticleDOI

An Absence of Radio-loud Active Galactic Nuclei in Geometrically Flat Quiescent Galaxies: Implications for Maintenance-mode Feedback Models

TL;DR: In this article, the authors demonstrate that at a fixed mass the incidence of radio-loud (RL) active galactic nuclei (L > 10(23) W Hz(-1)) identified in the Faint Images of the Radio Sky at Twenty centimeter and NRAO Very Large Array Sky Survey radio surveys among a large sample of quiescent (non-star-forming) galaxies selected from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey is much higher in geometrically round, disk-like galaxies.

Panchromatic Hubble Andromeda Treasury. XIX. The Ancient Star Formation History of the M31 Disk

TL;DR: In this article, the authors map the star formation history across M31 by fitting stellar evolution models to color-magnitude diagrams of each 83$''{\times}$83$''$ (0.3$\times$1.4 kpc, deprojected) region of the PHAT survey outside of the innermost 6$'{\times]$12$'$ portion.
