Dynamic Processes Governing Lower-Tropospheric HDO/H2O Ratios as Observed from Space and Ground
Christian Frankenberg,Kei Yoshimura,Thorsten Warneke,Ilse Aben,André Butz,Nicholas M. Deutscher,David W. T. Griffith,F. Hase,Justus Notholt,Matthias Schneider,H. Schrijver,Thomas Röckmann +11 more
TL;DR: An extension of the analysis at high latitudes using ground-based observations of δD¯ and a model study shows that dynamic processes can entirely compensate for temperature effects on the isotopic composition of precipitation.
Journal ArticleDOI
The ACE-FTS atlas of the infrared solar spectrum
TL;DR: In this paper, an empirical solar spectrum covering the 700 to 4430 cm −1 spectral range has been constructed from an average of 224,782 individual ACE-FTS solar spectra.
Journal ArticleDOI
Calibration of TCCON column-averaged CO2: the first aircraft campaign over European TCCON sites
J. Messerschmidt,J. Messerschmidt,Marc C. Geibel,Thomas Blumenstock,Hilin Chen,Hilin Chen,Nicholas M. Deutscher,Andreas Engel,Dietrich G. Feist,Christoph Gerbig,M. Gisi,F. Hase,Krzysztof Katrynski,Olaf Kolle,Jost-Valentin Lavrič,Justus Notholt,Mathias Palm,M. Ramonet,Markus Rettinger,Martina Schmidt,Ralf Sussmann,Geoffrey C. Toon,François Truong,Thorsten Warneke,Paul O. Wennberg,Debra Wunch,Irène Xueref-Remy +26 more
TL;DR: In this article, the first aircraft calibration campaign of five European TCCON sites and a mobile Fourier Transform Spectrometer (FTS) instrument was introduced, and the results of the campaign show that the FTS mea- surements are consistently biased 1.1 %± 0.2 % low with re- spect to WMO standards.
Journal ArticleDOI
Trend analysis of greenhouse gases over Europe measured by a network of ground-based remote FTIR instruments
Tom Gardiner,A. Forbes,M. De Mazière,Corinne Vigouroux,Emmanuel Mahieu,Philippe Demoulin,Voltaire A. Velazco,Justus Notholt,T. Blumenstock,F. Hase,I. Kramer,Ralf Sussmann,Wolfgang Stremme,Johan Mellqvist,A. Strandberg,K. Ellingsen,M. Gauss +16 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe the statistical analysis of annual trends in long term datasets of greenhouse gas measurements taken over ten or more years, and employ a bootstrap resampling method to determine both the longterm and intra-annual variability of the datasets, together with the uncertainties on the trend values.
Journal ArticleDOI
CO measurements from the ACE-FTS satellite instrument: data analysis and validation using ground-based, airborne and spaceborne observations

Strandberg,Kimberly Strong,Ralf Sussmann,Valérie Thouret,Jakub Urban,Aldona Wiacek +53 more
TL;DR: The Atmospheric Chemistry Experiment (ACE) mission was launched in August 2003 to sound the atmosphere by solar occultation, and the ACE-Fourier Transform Spectrometer (ACE-FTS) as discussed by the authors performs measurements in both the CO 1-0 and 2-0 rovibrational bands, from which vertically resolved CO concentration profiles are retrieved, from the mid-troposphere to the thermosphere.
