Breakthrough COVID-19 in vaccinated patients with hematologic malignancies: results from the EPICOVIDEHA survey

TL;DR: While mortality is significantly lower than in the pre-vaccination era, breakthrough COVID-19 in HM is still associated with considerable mortality.
Journal ArticleDOI

Outcome of infection with omicron SARS‐CoV‐2 variant in patients with hematological malignancies: An EPICOVIDEHA survey report

TL;DR: Risk factors, antiviral treatment and outcomes of SARS-CoV-2 omicron variant infection in 593 HM patients included in the EPICOVIDEHA registry are described.
Journal ArticleDOI

B-cell malignancies treated with targeted drugs and SARS-CoV-2 infection: A European Hematology Association Survey (EPICOVIDEHA)

TL;DR: Overall mortality rate dropped from 41% during the first semester of 2020 to 25% at the last semester of 2021, but results show increased severity and mortality from COVID-19 in LPDs patients treated with targeted drugs.
Journal ArticleDOI

SF3B1 Mutations in Hematological Malignancies

TL;DR: The role played by SF3B1, one of the splicing factors most frequently mutated in cancer, in different hematological neoplasia has been summarized here to allow a better knowledge of diagnostic and prognostic factors and a better prediction of the response to therapy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Detection of SF3B1 p.Lys700Glu Mutation by PNA-PCR Clamping in Myelodysplastic Syndromes and Myeloproliferative Neoplasms

TL;DR: A novel fast and cheap assay based on PNA-PCR clamping is developed that could easily increase the characterization of myelodysplastic syndromes and myeloproliferative neoplasms in small-/medium-sized laboratories, and guide patients towards more appropriate therapy.
