Infrared Sensor System for Mobile-Robot Positioning in Intelligent Spaces

TL;DR: A sensorial system for measuring differential phase-shifts in a sinusoidally modulated infrared signal transmitted from the robot to demonstrate the validity of the system proposed, comparing it with other similar indoor positioning systems.
Journal ArticleDOI

Continuous-wave infrared optical gain and amplified spontaneous emission at ultralow threshold by colloidal HgTe quantum dots.

TL;DR: It is shown that mercury telluride (HgTe) QDs exhibit size-tunable stimulated emission throughout the near-infrared telecom window at thresholds unmatched by any QD studied before, which introduces an alternative approach for low-threshold QD-based gain media based on intentional trap states that paves the way for solution-processed infrared QD lasers and amplifiers.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chiral Hydrogen Bond Environment Providing Unidirectional Rotation in Photoactive Molecular Motors.

TL;DR: Generation of a chiral hydrogen bond environment in efficient molecular photoswitches is proposed as a novel strategy for the design of photoactive molecular motors.
