Journal ArticleDOI
Amplified trace gas removal in the troposphere.
Andreas Hofzumahaus,Franz Rohrer,Keding Lu,Keding Lu,Birger Bohn,Theo Brauers,Chih-Chung Chang,Hendrik Fuchs,Frank Holland,Kazuyuki Kita,Yutaka Kondo,Xin Li,Xin Li,Shengrong Lou,Shengrong Lou,Min Shao,Limin Zeng,Andreas Wahner,Yuanhang Zhang +18 more
TL;DR: Concentrations of OH were three to five times greater than expected, and the existence of a pathway for the regeneration of OH independent of NO is proposed, which amplifies the degradation of pollutants without producing ozone.
Journal ArticleDOI
Strong correlation between levels of tropospheric hydroxyl radicals and solar ultraviolet radiation
Franz Rohrer,Harald Berresheim +1 more
TL;DR: It is inferred that there is no long-term trend in the level of OH in the Hohenpeissenberg data set, despite the fact that OH concentrations are influenced by thousands of reactants.
Journal ArticleDOI
Estimations of global no, emissions and their uncertainties
David S. Lee,I. Köhler,E. Grobler,Franz Rohrer,Robert Sausen,L. Gallardo-Klenner,J. G. J. Olivier,Frank Dentener,Alexander F. Bouwman +8 more
TL;DR: The AERONOX program investigated the impact of NOx emissions from aircraft on the atmosphere and included an extensive modelling program as discussed by the authors, which was used to compare emissions from both aviation and non-aviation sources.
Journal ArticleDOI
Radical chemistry at a rural site (Wangdu) in the North China Plain: observation and model calculations of OH, HO 2 and RO 2 radicals
Zhaofeng Tan,Hendrik Fuchs,Keding Lu,Andreas Hofzumahaus,Birger Bohn,Sebastian Broch,Huabin Dong,Sebastian Gomm,Rolf Häseler,Ling-Yan He,Frank Holland,Xin Li,Xin Li,Ying Liu,Sihua Lu,Franz Rohrer,Min Shao,Baolin Wang,Ming Wang,Yusheng Wu,Limin Zeng,Yinsong Zhang,Andreas Wahner,Yuanhang Zhang,Yuanhang Zhang +24 more
TL;DR: In this article, a comprehensive field campaign was carried out in summer 2014 in Wangdu, located in the North China Plain, where a month of continuous OH, HO2 and RO2 measurements was achieved.
Journal ArticleDOI
Characterisation of the photolytic HONO-source in the atmosphere simulation chamber SAPHIR
TL;DR: In this paper, a photolytic HONO source at the surface of the SAPHIR chamber is proposed which is strongly dependent on humidity, on light intensity, and on temperature.
