Spiral spin-liquid and the emergence of a vortex-like state in MnSc2S4
Shang Gao,Shang Gao,Oksana Zaharko,Vladimir Tsurkan,Vladimir Tsurkan,Yixi Su,Jonathan S. White,G. S. Tucker,G. S. Tucker,Bertrand Roessli,Frederic Bourdarot,Romain Sibille,Dmitry Chernyshov,Tom Fennell,Alois Loidl,Christian Rüegg,Christian Rüegg +16 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the existence of a spiral spin-liquid state in the quantum magnet MnSc2S4 has been proved using neutron scattering techniques by directly observing the "spiral surface", a continuous surface of spiral propagation vectors in reciprocal space.
Journal ArticleDOI
Superconducting and normal phases of FeSe single crystals at high pressure.
Daniel Braithwaite,B. Salce,Gérard Lapertot,Frederic Bourdarot,C. Marin,Dai Aoki,M. Hanfland +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the synthesis of superconducting single crystals of FeSe and their characterization by x-ray diffraction, magnetization and resistivity were reported, showing that the tetragonal PbO structure undergoes a structural transition to a hexagonal structure.
Journal ArticleDOI
Direct measurement of individual phonon lifetimes in the clathrate compound Ba 7.81 Ge 40.67 Au 5.33
P.-F. Lory,Stéphane Pailhès,Valentina M. Giordano,Holger Euchner,Hong Duong Nguyen,Reiner Ramlau,Horst Borrmann,Marcus Schmidt,Michael Baitinger,M. Ikeda,P. Tomeš,Marek Mihalkovic,C. Allio,Mark R. Johnson,Helmut Schober,Yvan Sidis,Frederic Bourdarot,Louis Pierre Regnault,Jacques Ollivier,Silke Paschen,Yuri Grin,Marc de Boissieu +21 more
TL;DR: The achievement of a direct quantitative measurement of phonon lifetimes in a single crystal of the clathrate Ba7.81Ge40.67Au5.33 is shown, underlining the inability of state-of-the-art simulations to reproduce the experimental data and representing a crucial experimental input for theoretical developments.
Journal ArticleDOI
Inflection point in the magnetic field dependence of the ordered moment of URu2Si2 observed by neutron scattering in fields up to 17 T.
TL;DR: The measured magnetic field dependence of the ordered antiferromagnetic moment and the magnetic excitations in the heavy-fermion superconductor URu2Si2 for fields up to 17 T applied along the tetragonal c axis suggests that the moment m is connected to a hidden order parameter psi which belongs to the same irreducible representation breaking time-reversal symmetry.
Journal ArticleDOI
Signature of hidden order in heavy fermion superconductor URu 2 Si 2 : Resonance at the wave vector Q 0 = ( 1,0,0 )
A Villaume,Frederic Bourdarot,Elena Hassinger,Stéphane Raymond,Valentin Taufour,Daisuke Aoki,Jacques Flouquet +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, simultaneous neutron scattering and thermal expansion measurements on the heavy-fermion superconductor under hydrostatic pressure of 0.67 GPa have been performed in order to detect the successive paramagnetic, hidden order, and large moment antiferromagnetic phases on cooling.
