Development of high power THz band gyrotrons and their applications in physical research

TL;DR: In this article, a review of the development of radiation sources and the most striking examples of using of gyrotrons for spectroscopy and diagnostics of various media is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Experimental study of a gyrotron operated at the second gyrofrequency harmonic with the single-stage energy recovery

TL;DR: In this paper, a single-stage energy recovery in a gyrotron with an electrically insulated collector was used to obtain an output efficiency of 60%, which is record-breaking for gyrotrons operated at the second gyrofrequency harmonic.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Development in Russia of 170 GHz gyrotron for ITER

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present new results in development of gyrotrons for ITER, and the industrial production prototype of the ITER gyrotron was tested at power 1.02 MW in 100 second pulses and at power 0.85 MW in 200 second pulses.
