Journal ArticleDOI

Design of the 1 MW, 200 GHz, FOM fusion FEM

TL;DR: In this article, the main components of the free-electron maser, the electron beam line, the undulator and the millimetre-wave system are described, which are optimized with the help of a fully 3D, particle-pusher, FEM simulation code.
Journal ArticleDOI

Gyrotron Development for High Power THz Technologies at IAP RAS

TL;DR: In this paper, a review summarizes recent experimental results in the field of THz gyrotrons developed for various applications, and a powerful pulsed 0.67-THz/200-kW gyrotron is under development for remote detection of ionization sources.
Journal ArticleDOI

Microwave pulse compression using a helically corrugated waveguide

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used a helical waveguide with a special helical corrugation of its inner surface to produce short, ultra-high power (multi-GW) pulses.
Journal ArticleDOI

Electron cyclotron current drive experiments on T-10

TL;DR: In this paper, the results of electron cyclotron current drive experiments on the T-10 tokamak were presented, where the total RF power was up to 2.5 MW, the electron temperature was upto 7 keV and the maximum driven current was 110 kA. The current drive efficiency was approximately 0.1 A/W.
Journal ArticleDOI

High-power electrostatic free-electron maser as a future source for fusion plasma heating: experiments in the short-pulse regime.

TL;DR: A high-power, frequency-tunable electrostatic free-electron maser, being developed at the FOM Institute for Plasma Physics "Rijnhuizen," shows lasing at various frequencies and the main issues, such as the possibility of high- power, single-mode operation and frequency tuning, have been confirmed.
