Experimental investigation of a system of input/output power flows separation for a broadband millimeter-wave gyro-TWT
TL;DR: In this paper, a quasi-optical waveguide device based on the Talbot's effect effectively separates power flows of input and output radiation in the required frequency range for a sub-millimeter wave (260 GHz) broadband gyro-TWT's radiation input/output system is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Calculation and optimization of three-dimensional waveguide systems by the integral equation method
TL;DR: In this article, the integral equation method is realized in the form of a computer code and is used to calculate three-dimensional multimode waveguide systems, which are compared with the results of perturbation theory and the experimental data.

Abstract: A Free Electron Maser is being designed for ECRH applications on future fusion devices. TheFEM will have an output power of 1 MW, a central frequency of 200 GHz and will be adjustableover the complete frequency range of 125 GHz to 250 GHz.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Collector of a Megawatt Gyrotron with a Static Nonadiabatic Magnetic Field
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors developed a collector with a static nonadiabatic magnetic field, which allowed one to exclude the influence of pulsed thermal loads and accumulation of nonelastic deformations in the collector body, as well as achieve the nearly uniform distribution of the heat release power density over its surface for an energy load of about 500 W/cm2.
Journal ArticleDOI
Spurious excitation of near-cutoff modes in free-electron masers
V. L. Bratman,G. G. Denisov,Andrey V. Savilov,W.A. Bongers,C.A.J. van der Geer,P. Manintveld,A.G.A. Verhoeven,W.H. Urbanus +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of mutual scattering of the waves can result in a significant decrease of the starting current for the spurious wave in the presence of the operating high-frequency traveling wave.
