A complementary role of multiparameter flow cytometry and high-throughput sequencing for minimal residual disease detection in chronic lymphocytic leukemia: an European Research Initiative on CLL study
Andy C. Rawstron,Claudia Fazi,A. Agathangelidis,N. Villamor,Rémi Letestu,Josep F. Nomdedeu,Carles Palacio,Olga Stehlíková,Karl-Anton Kreuzer,S. Liptrot,David O'Brien,R de Tute,Iuri Marinov,Mathieu Hauwel,Martin Spacek,Johan A. Dobber,Arnon P. Kater,Peter Gambell,Asha Soosapilla,Gerard Lozanski,Gabriele Brachtl,Ke Lin,Justin C. Boysen,C A Hanson,Jeffrey L. Jorgensen,Maryalice Stetler-Stevenson,Constance M. Yuan,H. E. Broome,Laura Z. Rassenti,Fiona E. Craig,Julio Delgado,C Moreno,Francesc Bosch,Alexander Egle,Michael Doubek,Šárka Pospíšilová,Stephen P. Mulligan,David Westerman,Catherine Sanders,Ryan O. Emerson,Harlan Robins,Ilan R. Kirsch,Tait D. Shanafelt,Andrew R. Pettitt,Thomas J. Kipps,William G. Wierda,Florence Cymbalista,Michael Hallek,Peter Hillmen,E. Montserrat,Paolo Ghia +50 more
TL;DR: This European Research Initiative on CLL (ERIC) project has identified and validated a flow-cytometric approach to reliably quantitate CLL cells to the level of 0.0010% (10−5), which is directly comparable to previous ERIC-designed assays and also provides a backbone for investigation of new markers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Human CD4+CD103+ cutaneous resident memory T cells are found in the circulation of healthy individuals
Maria M. Klicznik,Peter A. Morawski,Barbara Höllbacher,Barbara Höllbacher,Suraj R Varkhande,Samantha Motley,Leticia Kuri-Cervantes,Eileen C. Goodwin,Michael Rosenblum,S. Alice Long,Gabriele Brachtl,Thomas Duhen,Michael R. Betts,Daniel J. Campbell,Daniel J. Campbell,Iris K. Gratz,Iris K. Gratz,Iris K. Gratz +17 more
TL;DR: Using a skin xenograft model, it is confirmed that a fraction of the human cutaneous CD4+CD103+ TRM population can reenter circulation and migrate to secondary human skin sites where they reassume a TRM phenotype, and challenge current concepts regarding the strict tissue compartmentalization ofCD4+ T cell memory in humans.
Journal ArticleDOI
A robust potency assay highlights significant donor variation of human mesenchymal stem/progenitor cell immune modulatory capacity and extended radio-resistance
Nina Ketterl,Gabriele Brachtl,Cornelia Schuh,Karen Bieback,Katharina Schallmoser,Andreas Reinisch,Dirk Strunk +6 more
TL;DR: A robust immunomodulation potency assay is established based on pooling responder leukocytes to minimize individual immune response variability and reveal significant potency inconsistency and generally diminished allo-immunosuppression compared to dose-dependent inhibition of mitogenesis.
Journal ArticleDOI
The pathogenic relevance of the prognostic markers CD38 and CD49d in chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
TL;DR: The current evidence for the individual and associated contributions of CD38 and CD49d to CLL pathophysiology is reviewed.
Journal ArticleDOI
A functional corona around extracellular vesicles enhances angiogenesis, skin regeneration and immunomodulation
Martin Wolf,Rodolphe Poupardin,Patricia Ebner-Peking,André Cronemberger Andrade,C. Blöchl,Astrid Obermayer,Fausto Gueths Gomes,Balazs Vari,Nicole Maeding,Essi Eminger,Heide-Marie Binder,Anna M. Raninger,Sarah Hochmann,Gabriele Brachtl,Andreas Spittler,Thomas Heuser,Racheli Ofir,Christian G. Huber,Zami Aberman,Katharina Schallmoser,Hans-Dieter Volk,Dirk Strunk +21 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that nano‐sized EVs from therapy‐grade human placental‐expanded (PLX) stromal cells are surrounded by an imageable and functional protein corona when enriched with permissive technology.
