Correlation between quantitative and semiquantitative parameters in DCE-MRI with a blood pool agent in rectal cancer: can semiquantitative parameters be used as a surrogate for quantitative parameters?

TL;DR: This study shows a strong correlation between quantitative and semiquantitative parameters in DCE-MRI for rectal cancer, where peak enhancement correlates strongly with Ktrans and wash-in showed strong correlation with Vp and Kep.
Journal ArticleDOI

Magnetization transfer imaging to assess tumour response after chemoradiotherapy in rectal cancer

TL;DR: The mean MTR can differentiate between good and poor responders after chemoradiation, and in addition to measurement of the mean value, histogram analyses can be beneficial.
Journal ArticleDOI

Automated Spectroscopic Tissue Classification in Colorectal Surgery

TL;DR: Intraoperative DRS showed that Si and InGaAs sensors are equally suited for automated classification of ureter versus surrounding adipose tissue, and Si sensors seem better suited for classifying artery versus mesenteric adiposes tissue.
Journal ArticleDOI

Management and Outcome of Local Regrowths in a Watch-and-wait Prospective Cohort for Complete Responses in Rectal Cancer.

TL;DR: The vast majority of patients with regrowth after a W&W policy were able to undergo treatment with curative intent for local regrowth and the 2-year local recurrence- free rate, distant metastasis-free rate, disease-free survival, and overall survival in the patients undergoing surgical treatment were 97.4%, respectively.
