Assessment of Recent Process Analytical Technology (PAT) Trends: A Multiauthor Review

TL;DR: In this paper, a multiauthor review article aims to bring readers up to date with some of the current trends in the field of process analytical technology (PAT) by summarizing each aspect of the subject (sensor development, PAT based process monitoring and control methods) and presenting applications both in industrial laboratories and in manufacture.
Journal ArticleDOI

Continuous Crystallization of Pharmaceuticals Using a Continuous Oscillatory Baffled Crystallizer

TL;DR: In this article, a continuous oscillatory baffled crystallizer (COBC) was used for the continuous crystallization of a model active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) using a continuous ODE.
Journal ArticleDOI

Enhancing crystalline properties of a cardiovascular active pharmaceutical ingredient using a process analytical technology based crystallization feedback control strategy.

TL;DR: By applying the automated direct nucleation control (ADNC) approach problems with agglomeration and solvent inclusion were resolved and the ADNC approach was able to produce larger and more uniform crystals and also removed the residual solvent trapped between the crystals compared to the typical crystallization operation using linear cooling profile.
Journal ArticleDOI

Tailoring crystal shape and polymorphism using combinations of solvents and a structurally related additive

TL;DR: In this article, the results of the crystallization experiments and offline analysis were compared and interpreted using the information on the crystal structures of the three OABA polymorphs from the Cambridge Crystallographic database.
Journal ArticleDOI

A Process Analytical Technology Based Investigation of the Polymorphic Transformations during the Antisolvent Crystallization of Sodium Benzoate from IPA/Water Mixture

TL;DR: In this paper, the use of process analytical technology (PAT) tools, including focused beam reflectance measurement (FBRM) probe, turbidity meter, and attenuated total reflectance (ATR) UV−vis spectroscopy, for the monitoring and detection of polymorphic transformation during the antisolvent crystallization of sodium benzoate from a propan-2-ol (IPA)/water mixture was presented.
