Journal ArticleDOI
Health-related quality of life and symptoms in patients with myelofibrosis treated with ruxolitinib versus best available therapy.
Claire N. Harrison,Ruben A. Mesa,Jean-Jacques Kiladjian,Haifa Kathrin Al-Ali,Heinz Gisslinger,Laurent Knoops,Margaret Squier,Andres Sirulnik,Estella Mendelson,Xiaolei Zhou,Catherine Copley-Merriman,Deborah S. Hunter,Richard S. Levy,Francisco Cervantes,Francesco Passamonti,Tiziano Barbui,Giovanni Barosi,Alessandro M. Vannucchi +17 more
TL;DR: Post‐hoc analyses of the impact of ruxolitinib on disease‐related symptoms and HRQoL in MF patients from the large phase 3 COMFORT‐II study demonstrated that ruxolinib improved HRQeL inMF patients and further support the use of rUXolit inib for the treatment of symptomatic MF.
Journal ArticleDOI
Low-molecular-weight heparin versus warfarin for secondary prophylaxis of venous thromboembolism: a cost-effectiveness analysis
TL;DR: Low-molecular-weight heparin might be a cost-effective drug for secondary prophylaxis of venous thromboembolism, especially in patients at high risk of recurrence and where the drug's cost is lower.
Journal ArticleDOI
Rabbit ATG/ATLG in preventing graft-versus-host disease after allogeneic stem cell transplantation: consensus-based recommendations by an international expert panel
Francesca Bonifazi,Marie-Thérèse Rubio,Andrea Bacigalupo,Jaap Jan Boelens,Jürgen Finke,Hildegard Greinix,Mohamad Mohty,Arnon Nagler,Jakob Passweg,Alessandro Rambaldi,Gérard Socié,Carlos Solano,Irwin Walker,Giovanni Barosi,Nicolaus Kröger +14 more
TL;DR: Overall, these recommendations can be used for a proper and safe application of polyclonal ATG/ATLG to prevent GvHD after allogeneic HSCT to prevent graft-versus-host disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
Performance characteristics of hemox-analyzer for assessment of the hemoglobin dissociation curve
TL;DR: The Hemox-Analyzer is a simple, quick and reliable instrument for recording the oxyhemoglobin dissociation curve that shows good precision and both the P50 value and observation of the fine structure of the curve can furnish information about the delivery of oxygen to tissues.
Journal Article
Splenectomy for patients with myelofibrosis with myeloid metaplasia: pretreatment variables and outcome prediction
Giovanni Barosi,Achille Ambrosetti,A. Buratti,C Finelli,Nicola Lucio Liberato,Silvana Quaglini,M. M. Ricetti,Giuseppe Visani,Sante Tura,Edoardo Ascari +9 more
TL;DR: The findings indicate that the operative risk of splenectomy for both mortality and morbidity was unpredictable and suggest trials for prophylactic cytoreductive treatment in young patients and when platelet count is normal to increased.
