A Phase 2 Study of Luspatercept in Patients with Myelofibrosis-Associated Anemia
Aaron T. Gerds,Alessandro M. Vannucchi,Francesco Passamonti,Marina Kremyanskaya,Jason Gotlib,Jeanne Palmer,Kelly McCaul,Vincent Ribrag,Adam J. Mead,Claire N. Harrison,Ruben A. Mesa,Jean-Jacques Kiladjian,Giovanni Barosi,Robert Peter Gale,Robert Peter Gale,Abderrahmane Laadem,Joseph Pariseau,Torsten Gerike,Jennie Zhang,Peter G. Linde,Joseph G. Reynolds,Srdan Verstovsek +21 more
TL;DR: 557 A Phase 2 Study of Luspatercept in Patients With Myelofibrosis-Associated Anemia is presented at the 61st Annual Meeting of the American Society of Hematology (ASH) on December 7–10, 2019.
Journal ArticleDOI
Thrombopoietin/TGF-β1 Loop Regulates Megakaryocyte Extracellular Matrix Component Synthesis.
Vittorio Abbonante,Christian A. Di Buduo,Cristian Gruppi,Alessandro Malara,Umberto Gianelli,Giuseppe Celesti,Achille Anselmo,Luigi Laghi,Marco Vercellino,Livia Visai,Alessandra Iurlo,Remigio Moratti,Giovanni Barosi,Vittorio Rosti,Alessandra Balduini +14 more
TL;DR: The data collected support the hypothesis that bone marrow megakaryocytes possess a complete mechanism to synthesize the ECM components, and that thrombopoietin is a pivotal regulator of this new function inducing transforming growth factor‐β1 (TGF‐ β1) release and consequent activation of the downstream pathways.
Journal ArticleDOI
Defective interaction of mutant calreticulin and SOCE in megakaryocytes from patients with myeloproliferative neoplasms.
Christian A. Di Buduo,Vittorio Abbonante,Caroline Marty,Francesco Moccia,Elisa Rumi,Daniela Pietra,Paolo M. Soprano,Dmitry Lim,Daniele Cattaneo,Alessandra Iurlo,Umberto Gianelli,Giovanni Barosi,Vittorio Rosti,Isabelle Plo,Mario Cazzola,Alessandra Balduini,Alessandra Balduini +16 more
TL;DR: The abnormal SOCE regulation of Ca2+ flows in megakaryocytes contributes to the pathophysiology of CALR-mutated myeloproliferative neoplasms.
Journal ArticleDOI
Symptomatic Profiles of Patients With Polycythemia Vera: Implications of Inadequately Controlled Disease
Holly L. Geyer,Robyn M. Scherber,Heidi E. Kosiorek,Amylou C. Dueck,Jean-Jacques Kiladjian,Zhijian Xiao,Stefanie Slot,Sonja Zweegman,Federico Sackmann,Ana Kerguelen Fuentes,Dolores Hernández-Maraver,Konstanze Döhner,Claire N. Harrison,Deepti Radia,Pablo J. TL;DR: It is suggested that patients with PV who have any one of the features in question (known HU use, known phlebotomy, or splenomegaly) have significant PV-associated symptoms and it demonstrates that many PV symptoms remain severe independent of the number of features present.
Journal ArticleDOI
Erythropoiesis in myelofibrosis with myeloid metaplasia: recognition of different classes of patients by erythrokinetics.
TL;DR: A direct relationship between total erythropoiesis and red cell volume was revealed and this ‘inverse’ characteristic of erythrokinetic control was the best marker of the proliferative nature of the disease.
