Journal ArticleDOI

Thrombopoietin/TGF-β1 Loop Regulates Megakaryocyte Extracellular Matrix Component Synthesis.

TL;DR: The data collected support the hypothesis that bone marrow megakaryocytes possess a complete mechanism to synthesize the ECM components, and that thrombopoietin is a pivotal regulator of this new function inducing transforming growth factor‐β1 (TGF‐ β1) release and consequent activation of the downstream pathways.
Journal ArticleDOI

Symptomatic Profiles of Patients With Polycythemia Vera: Implications of Inadequately Controlled Disease

TL;DR: It is suggested that patients with PV who have any one of the features in question (known HU use, known phlebotomy, or splenomegaly) have significant PV-associated symptoms and it demonstrates that many PV symptoms remain severe independent of the number of features present.
Journal ArticleDOI

Erythropoiesis in myelofibrosis with myeloid metaplasia: recognition of different classes of patients by erythrokinetics.

TL;DR: A direct relationship between total erythropoiesis and red cell volume was revealed and this ‘inverse’ characteristic of erythrokinetic control was the best marker of the proliferative nature of the disease.
