Longitudinal Associations between Adolescent Psychotic Experiences and Depressive Symptoms

TL;DR: Depression at 12 years was not associated with psychotic experiences at 18 years once across-phenotype cross-sectional and within-phenotypes longitudinal associations were accounted for, suggesting that the biological mechanisms underlying depression at this age do not increase subsequent risk of psychotic experiences once they resolve.
Journal ArticleDOI

Association of measures of fetal and childhood growth with non-clinical psychotic symptoms in 12-year-olds: the ALSPAC cohort.

TL;DR: Measures of impaired fetal, but not childhood, growth are associated with an increased risk of psychosis-like symptoms in 12-year-olds, and there was little evidence for an association of 7-year height or adiposity with psychosis- like symptoms.
Journal ArticleDOI

Panic disorder and subthreshold panic in the UK general population: epidemiology, comorbidity and functional limitation.

TL;DR: The findings show that efforts to reduce the disability associated with psychiatric disorders should include detection and management of panic disorder, and that panic-related conditions are important public health problems, even in subthreshold status.
Journal ArticleDOI

Usefulness of PHQ-9 in primary care to determine meaningful symptoms of low mood: a qualitative study.

TL;DR: The PHQ-9 may be missing the presence and/or intensity of certain symptoms that are meaningful to patients, and Clinicians should adopt caution when using it.
Journal ArticleDOI
