Journal ArticleDOI
Nucleosynthesis in the Oxygen-rich Supernova Remnant G292.0+1.8 from Chandra X-Ray Spectroscopy
Sangwook Park,John P. Hughes,Patrick Slane,David N. Burrows,Peter W. A. Roming,John A. Nousek,Gordon P. Garmire +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, Chandra X-ray observations of the supernova remnant G292.0+1.8 were used to detect metal-rich ejecta knots as well as the shocked circumstellar medium.
Journal ArticleDOI
Modeling mm- to X-ray flare emission from SgrA*
Andreas Eckart,Frederick K. Baganoff,Mark Morris,D. Kunneriath,Mohammad Zamaninasab,G. Witzel,Rainer Schödel,M. Garcia-Marin,Leo Meyer,Geoffrey C. Bower,Daniel P. Marrone,Marshall W. Bautz,W. N. Brandt,Gordon P. Garmire,George R. Ricker,Christian Straubmeier,Douglas A. Roberts,Koraljka Muzic,Jon C. Mauerhan,Anton Zensus +19 more
TL;DR: In this article, a combined synchrotron self-Compton (SSC) model followed by an adiabatic expansion of the source components can fully account for the observed flare flux densities and delay times covering the spectral range from the X-ray to the mm-radio domain.
Journal ArticleDOI
A pulsar wind nebula in the oxygen-rich supernova remnant g292.0+1.8
John P. Hughes,Patrick Slane,David N. Burrows,Gordon P. Garmire,John A. Nousek,Charles M. Olbert,J. W. Keohane +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, Chandra X-ray observations were used to detect the presence of a pulsar within the supernova remnant (SNR G292.0+1.8).
Journal ArticleDOI
A Chandra/ACIS Study of 30 Doradus I. Superbubbles and Supernova Remnants
Leisa K. Townsley,Patrick S. Broos,Eric D. Feigelson,Bernhard R. Brandl,You-Hua Chu,Gordon P. Garmire,George G. Pavlov +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an X-ray tour of diffuse emission in the 30 Doradus star-forming complex in the Large Magellanic Cloud using high-spatial-resolution Xray images and spatially-resolved spectra obtained with the Advanced CCD Imaging Spectrometer aboard the Chandra Xray Observatory is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
The evolution of the intracluster medium metallicity in Sunyaev Zel'dovich-selected galaxy clusters at 0 <z < 1.5
Michael McDonald,Esra Bulbul,T. de Haan,Eric D. Miller,Bradford Benson,Bradford Benson,Lindsey Bleem,Lindsey Bleem,Mark Brodwin,John E. Carlstrom,I-Non Chiu,William R. Forman,Julie Hlavacek-Larrondo,Gordon P. Garmire,Nikhel Gupta,Nikhel Gupta,Joseph J. Mohr,Christian L. Reichardt,A. Saro,B. Stalder,Antony A. Stark,Joaquin Vieira +21 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present the results of an X-ray spectral analysis of 153 galaxy clusters observed with the Chandra, XMM-Newton, and Suzaku space telescopes, which imply that the emission-weighted metallicity has not changed by more than 40% since z = 1 (at 95% confidence).
