Reprogramming Fibroblasts into Bipotential Hepatic Stem Cells by Defined Factors
Bing Yu,Zhiying He,Pu You,Qing-Wang Han,Dao Xiang,Fei Chen,Min-Jun Wang,Changcheng Liu,Xi-Wen Lin,Uyunbilig Borjigin,Xiao-Yuan Zi,Jian-Xiu Li,Haiying Zhu,Wenlin Li,Chun-Sheng Han,Kirk J. Wangensteen,Yufang Shi,Yufang Shi,Lijian Hui,Xin Wang,Xin Wang,Xin Wang,Yi-Ping Hu +22 more
TL;DR: It is shown that Hnf1β and Foxa3, liver organogenesis transcription factors, are sufficient to reprogram MEFs into induced hepatic stem cells (iHepSCs), a strategy to enable efficient derivation of both hepatocytes and cholangiocytes for use in disease modeling and tissue engineering.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cuprous oxide nanoparticles inhibit the growth and metastasis of melanoma by targeting mitochondria
Ye Wang,Fu Yang,Hang-Jie Zhang,Xiao-Yuan Zi,Xinghua Pan,Fei Chen,W D Luo,Jian-Xiu Li,Haiying Zhu,Yi-Ping Hu +9 more
TL;DR: Cuprous oxide nanoparticles can induce the apoptosis of cancer cells through a mitochondrion-mediated apoptosis pathway, which raises the possibility that CONPs could be used to cure melanoma and other cancers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Two methods for full-length RNA sequencing for low quantities of cells and single cells
Xinghua Pan,Russell E. Durrett,Haiying Zhu,Yoshiaki Tanaka,Yumei Li,Xiaoyuan Zi,Sadie L. Marjani,Ghia Euskirchen,Chao Ma,Chao Ma,Robert H. LaMotte,In-Hyun Park,Michael Snyder,Christopher E. Mason,Sherman M. Weissman +14 more
TL;DR: These protocols for the amplification and high-throughput sequencing of very small amounts of RNA for sequencing using procedures of either semirandom primed PCR or phi29 DNA polymerase-based DNA amplification, for the cDNA generated with oligo-dT and/or random oligonucleotide primers are reported.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cuprous oxide nanoparticles selectively induce apoptosis of tumor cells
Ye Wang,Xiao-Yuan Zi,Juan Su,Hongxia Zhang,Xin-rong Zhang,Haiying Zhu,Jian-Xiu Li,Meng Yin,Feng Yang,Yi-Ping Hu +9 more
TL;DR: The results demonstrate that CONPs have selective cytotoxicity towards tumor cells, and indicate thatCONPs might be a potential nanomedicine for cancer therapy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Molecular insights into the heterogeneity of telomere reprogramming in induced pluripotent stem cells
Fang Wang,Yu Yin,Xiaoying Ye,Kai Liu,Haiying Zhu,Lingling Wang,Maria Chiourea,Maja Okuka,Guangzhen Ji,Jiameng Dan,Bingfeng Zuo,Minshu Li,Qian Zhang,Na Liu,Lingyi Chen,Xinghua Pan,Sarantis Gagos,David L. Keefe,Lin Liu +18 more
TL;DR: It is shown that telomere dynamics are variable in mouse iPSCs during reprogramming and passage, and that telomerase maintenance of telomeres is necessary for induction of true pluripotency while the alternative pathway of elongation and maintenance by recombination is also required, but not sufficient.
