Shalender Bhasin,Thomas M. Gill,David B. Reuben,Nancy K. Latham,David A. Ganz,Erich J. Greene,James Dziura,Shehzad Basaria,Jerry H. Gurwitz,Patricia C. Dykes,Siobhan K McMahon,Thomas W. Baker,Chad Boult,Rosaly Correa-de-Araujo,Peter Peduzzi +48 more
TL;DR: A multifactorial intervention, administered by nurses, did not result in a significantly lower rate of a first adjudicated serious fall injury than enhanced usual care.
Journal ArticleDOI
ALFRED: the ALelle FREquency Database. Update
Haseena Rajeevan,Michael V. Osier,Kei-Hoi Cheung,H. Deng,L. Druskin,R. Heinzen,Judith R. Kidd,Sol Stein,Andrew J. Pakstis,Nick P. Tosches,C.-C. Yeh,Perry L. Miller,Kenneth K. Kidd +12 more
TL;DR: Information contained in ALFRED such as, polymorphic sites, number of populations and frequency tables (one sample typed for one site) has significantly increased.
Journal ArticleDOI
ALFRED: an allele frequency resource for research and teaching
TL;DR: The flexible search options and data display and download capabilities available through the web interface allow easy access to the large quantity of high-quality data in ALFRED.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Distribution and Most Recent Common Ancestor of the 17q21 Inversion in Humans
Michael P. Donnelly,Peristera Paschou,Elena L. Grigorenko,David Gurwitz,Syed Qasim Mehdi,Sylvester L.B. Kajuna,Csaba Barta,Selemani Kungulilo,Nganyirwa J. Karoma,Ru Band Lu,O. V. Kidd +22 more
TL;DR: Though the H2 inversion has many fixed differences across the approximately 900 kb, short tandem repeat polymorphism data indicate a very recent date for the most recent common ancestor, with dates ranging from 13,600 to 108,400 years, depending on assumptions and estimation methods.
Journal ArticleDOI
Strategies to Reduce Injuries and Develop Confidence in Elders (STRIDE): A Cluster-Randomized Pragmatic Trial of a Multifactorial Fall Injury Prevention Strategy: Design and Methods.

Araujo,Haseena Rajeevan,Scott Margolis,Richard Eder,Joanne M. McGloin,Eleni A. Skokos,Jocelyn Wiggins,Lawrence Garber,Steven B. Clauser,Rosaly Correa-de-Araujo,Peter Peduzzi +44 more
TL;DR: The design of a pragmatic trial is described to compare the effectiveness of an evidence-based, patient-centered multifactorial fall injury prevention strategy to an enhanced usual care to have important clinical and policy implications for the prevention of fall injuries in older adults.
