Hierarchical Assembly of ZnO Nanostructures on SnO 2 Backbone Nanowires: Low-Temperature Hydrothermal Preparation and Optical

TL;DR: Under the optical excitation, a UV random lasing is observed which originates from the hierarchically assembled ZnO branches, and such hybrid SnO(2)-ZnO nanostructures show an enhanced near-band gap emission compared with the primary SnO (2) nanowires.

Surface plasmon enhanced band edge luminescence of ZnO nanorods by capping Au nanoparticles

TL;DR: In this article, the surface plasmon of Au nanoparticles was used to enhance the ultraviolet emission of ZnO nanorods, while the defect-related emission was completely suppressed.
