Multi-omics joint analysis of the effect of temperature on microbial communities, metabolism, and genetics in full-scale biogas reactors with food waste
Ye Li,Zhangmu Jing,Junting Pan,Gang Luo,Lu Feng,Hao Jiang,Hongjun Zhou,Quan Xu,Yanjuan Lu,Hongbin Liu +9 more
TL;DR: Wang et al. as discussed by the authors evaluated the microbial taxonomy, metabolism, function, and genetic differences in 14 full-scale biogas reactors and laboratory reactors operating under various conditions in China.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluating the risk of phosphorus loss with a distributed watershed model featuring zero-order mobilization and first-order delivery.
Sisi Li,Liang Zhang,Hongbin Liu,Hugo A. Loáiciga,Limei Zhai,Yanhua Zhuang,Qiuliang Lei,Wanli Hu,Li Wenchao,Qi Feng,Yun Du +10 more
TL;DR: The calculated spatial and temporal patterns of phosphorus loss and recorded flow pathways identified with the STEM-P simulations revealed the field-scale critical source areas and guides the design and placement of effective practices for non-point source pollution control and water quality conservation.
Journal ArticleDOI
A machine-learning approach to modeling picophytoplankton abundances in the South China Sea
TL;DR: In this article, the authors compared four machine learning algorithms to estimate the horizontal and vertical distributions of picophytoplankton abundances in the South China Sea and found that Boosted Regression Trees (BRT) gave the best prediction performance with R2 ranging from 77% to 85% for Chl a concentration and abundances of three groups.
Journal ArticleDOI
Respiration, growth and grazing rates of three ciliate species in hypoxic conditions
Emma Rocke,Hongbin Liu +1 more
TL;DR: The slowing metabolism of key grazing protists, as well as species-specific tolerance in response to hypoxia, are illustrated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Potential of paddy drainage optimization to water and food security in China
TL;DR: Wang et al. as discussed by the authors determined the paddy drainage optimization management and assessed its potential to water and food security in China via different scale methods (from pot and field experiments to national assessment).
