Wijers,E.P.J. van den Heuvel +36 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that the bump can be modeled with a SN having the same temporal profile as the other proposed hypernova SN2002ap, but 1.3 mag brighter at peak, and located at the GRB redshift.
Journal ArticleDOI

Rhoads,Evert Rol,I. Salamanca,Nial R. Tanvir,Ralph A. M. J. Wijers,E.P.J. van den Heuvel +29 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a grid of spectral templates have been fitted to the Spectral Energy Distribution (SED) of the host galaxy of the dark gamma-ray burst (GRB) of February 10, 2000.
Journal ArticleDOI
Spectroscopy of GRB 021004: a structured jet ploughing through a massive stellar wind
R. L. C. Starling,R. A. M. J. Wijers,M. A. Hughes,Nial R. Tanvir,P. M. Vreeswijk,Evert Rol,I. Salamanca +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, spectra of the afterglow of GRB021004 were taken with WHT ISIS and VLT FORS1 at three epochs spanning 0.49-6.62 days after the burst.

Spectroscopy of the γ-ray burst GRB 021004 : a structured jet ploughing through a massive stellar wind
R. L. C. Starling,Ralph A. M. J. Wijers,M. A. Hughes,Nial R. Tanvir,Paul Vreeswijk,Evert Rol,I. Salamanca +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the afterglow of the γ-ray burst GRB 021004 was analyzed with the ISIS spectrograph on the William Herschel Telescope (WHT) and with the Focal Reducer/Low Dispersion Spectrograph 1 (FORS1) on the Very Large Telescope (VLT) at three epochs spanning 0.49-6.62 d after the burst.
Journal ArticleDOI
Variable polarization in the optical afterglow of GRB 021004

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present polarimetric observations of the afterglow of gamma-ray burst (GRB) 021004, obtained with the Nordic Optical Telescope (NOT) and the Very Large Telescope (VLT) between 8 and 17 hours after the burst.
