Early-Middle Miocene paleodrainage and tectonics in the Pakistan Himalaya

TL;DR: The 18-14 Ma Kamlial Formation sedimentary rocks in the Chinji Village region, Potwar Plateau, Pakistan are characterized by: (1) lithofacies indicative of deposition by a large river; (2) a dominant magmatic arc provenance completely unlike the ‘recycled orogen’ foreland basin deposits stratigraphically below, above, or coeval with these rocks; and (3) subordinate contribution from a rapidly exhuming source, interpreted as either the Nanga Parbat Haramosh Massif or the southern margin of the Asian
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Performance study of ETX based wireless routing metrics

TL;DR: This paper analytically review ongoing research on wireless routing metrics which are based on ETX (Expected Transmission Count) as it performs better than minimum hop count under link availability as it achieves throughput gains achieved with better utilization of wireless medium resources.
Journal ArticleDOI

Olfactory receptor subgenomes linked with broad ecological adaptations in Sauropsida

TL;DR: Ecological partitioning among birds of prey, water birds, land birds, and vocal learners showed that diverse ecological factors determined olfactory ability and influenced corresponding Olfactory-receptor subgenome.
Journal ArticleDOI

The rice monovalent cation transporter OsHKT2;4: revisited ionic selectivity.

TL;DR: OsHKT2;4 functions as K+-selective transporter at low external Na+, but transports also Na+ at high (>10 mm) Na+ concentrations, which supports the hypothesis that this system is dedicated to K+ transport in the plant.
Journal ArticleDOI

Silicon fertilization modulates 2-acetyl-1-pyrroline content, yield formation and grain quality of aromatic rice

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors assessed silicon mediated yield, grain quality and regulations in 2-acetyl-1-pyrroline accumulation (2-AP) in aromatic rice and found that Si fertilization improved 2-AP, Si and proline contents in leaves and grains as well as activities of proline dehydrogenase (PRODH) and net photosynthetic rates (Pn) (in leaves) while interfered with total N contents.
