Journal ArticleDOI
An integrated approach to maintaining cereal productivity under climate change
Matthew P. Reynolds,E. Quilligan,Pramod K. Aggarwal,Kailash C. Bansal,Anthony J. Cavalieri,Scott Chapman,Saharah M. Chapotin,Swapan K. Datta,Etienne Duveiller,Kulvinder S. Gill,Krishna S.V. Jagadish,Krishna S.V. Jagadish,Arun Kumar Joshi,Ann-Kristin Koehler,Petr Kosina,Srivalli Krishnan,Renee Lafitte,Rajendra S. Mahala,Raveendran Muthurajan,Andrew H. Paterson,Boddupalli M. Prasanna,Sujay Rakshit,Mark W. Rosegrant,Indu Sharma,Ravi P. Singh,Shoba Sivasankar,Vincent Vadez,Ravi Valluru,P. V. Vara Prasad,O. P. Yadav +29 more
TL;DR: In this article, a more internationally coordinated approach to crop phenotyping and modeling, combined with effective sharing of knowledge, facilities, and data, will boost the cost effectiveness and facilitate genetic gains of all staple crops, with likely spill over to more neglected crops.
Journal ArticleDOI
Differential Activity and Expression Profile of Antioxidant Enzymes and Physiological Changes in Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) Under Drought
Sonia Sheoran,Vidisha Thakur,Sneh Narwal,Rajita Turan,H. M. Mamrutha,Virender Singh,Vinod Tiwari,Indu Sharma +7 more
TL;DR: Antioxidant enzyme activities [superoxide dismutase (SOD) and peroxidase (POX)] increased with the decrease in osmotic potential in drought tolerant genotypes C306 and AKAW3717, suggesting that Mn-SOD might play an important role in drought tolerance.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluation of 19,460 Wheat Accessions Conserved in the Indian National Genebank to Identify New Sources of Resistance to Rust and Spot Blotch Diseases.
Sundeep Kumar,Sunil Archak,R. K. Tyagi,Jagdish Kumar,V. K. Vikas,Sherry Rachel Jacob,Kalyani Srinivasan,J. Radhamani,R. Parimalan,M. Sivaswamy,S. Tyagi,M. P. TL;DR: The resistant germplasm accessions identified in this study can be excellent potential candidates to be employed for breeding resistance into the background of high yielding wheat cultivars through conventional or molecular breeding approaches, and are expected to contribute toward food security at national and global levels.
Journal ArticleDOI
Identification of HSP20 Gene Family in Wheat and Barley and Their Differential Expression Profiling Under Heat Stress
TL;DR: 3D model prediction of full-length wheat HSP20 (TaHSP20) protein and ACD region is illustrated for the first time, showing up-regulation of all the transcripts under heat stress condition except TaCBM38894 candidate, which showed down-regulation in wheat.
Journal ArticleDOI
Response Estimation of Wheat Synthetic Lines to Terminal Heat Stress Using Stress Indices
TL;DR: The study using bilpot analysis revealed that stress tolerance indices can be selection criteria for identification of tolerant genotypes in synthetic wheat lines.
