Journal ArticleDOI

The N-terminal Region of Comparative Gene Identification-58 (CGI-58) Is Important for Lipid Droplet Binding and Activation of Adipose Triglyceride Lipase

TL;DR: It is shown that the N-terminal, Trp-rich region of CGI-58 is essential for correct localization and ATGL-activating function of CGI, which causes systemic triglyceride accumulation in humans and mice.
Journal ArticleDOI

G0/G1 switch gene-2 regulates human adipocyte lipolysis by affecting activity and localization of adipose triglyceride lipase

TL;DR: The results indicate that G0S2 also regulates human lipolysis by affecting enzyme activity and intracellular localization of ATGL, and could represent one of the underlying causes leading to increasedlipolysis in the insulin-resistant state.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Minimal Domain of Adipose Triglyceride Lipase (ATGL) Ranges until Leucine 254 and Can Be Activated and Inhibited by CGI-58 and G0S2, Respectively

TL;DR: The minimal active domain of ATGL is determined and a 3D homology model for the minimal domain is generated, which strengthens the experimental finding that amino acids between Leu178 and Leu254 are essential for the formation of a stable protein domain related to the patatin fold.
