Specific immunosuppressive role of nanodrugs targeting calcineurin in innate myeloid cells
Miriam Colombo,Laura Marongiu,Francesca Mingozzi,Roberta Marzi,Clara Cigni,Fabio A. Facchini,Ran S Rotem,Mihai Valache,Giulia Stucchi,Giuseppe Rocca,Laura Gornati,Maria Antonietta Rizzuto,Lucia Salvioni,Ivan Zanoni,Alessandro Gori,Davide Prosperi,Francesca Granucci +16 more
TL;DR: In this article , a new generation of nanoparticles-based selective immune suppressive agents for a better control of transplant acceptance is proposed, using a new nanoconjugate capable of selectively targeting phagocytes in vivo, protecting against graft rejection and induces a longer graft acceptance compared to common calcineurin inhibitors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Microbiome studies in the medical sciences and the need for closer multidisciplinary interplay.
TL;DR: An upcoming conference focuses on more interplay between researchers and clinicians studying microbiota, and the mechanisms of microbiota-related functions in health and disease and their clinical application.

Dowling,Ofer Levy,Ofer Levy,Ofer Levy +39 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a combination of SARS-CoV-2 protein antigens and adjuvants was used to identify a combination that elicits neutralizing antibodies and protection in young and aged mice.
Journal ArticleDOI
Deep Dermal Injection As a Model of Candida albicans Skin Infection for Histological Analyses.
TL;DR: A model of Candida albicans infection is described that can visualize the processes that occur early during an infection, including when the pathogen has passed the epithelial barrier, as well as the immune response elicited by the C.Albicans invasion.

Intersection of phosphate transport, oxidative stress and TOR signalling in Candida albicans virulence
Ning-Ning Liu,Priya Uppuluri,Achille Broggi,Angelique N. Besold,Kicki Ryman,Hiroto Kambara,Norma V. Solis,Viola Lorenz,Wanjun Qi,Maikel Acosta-Zaldívar,S. Noushin Emami,Bin Bao,Dingding An,Francisco A. Bonilla,Martha Sola-Visner,Scott G. Filler,Hongbo R. Luo,Ylva Engström,Per O. Ljungdahl,Valeria C. Culotta,Ivan Zanoni,Jose L. Lopez-Ribot,Julia Koehler +22 more
TL;DR: It is found that loss of Candida albicans Pho84 attenuated virulence in Drosophila and murine oropharyngeal and disseminated models of invasive infection, and conferred hypersensitivity to neutrophil killing, and its role in TORC1 activation to impact oxidative stress management was found.
