Journal ArticleDOI

Surface energy balance closure by the eddy-covariance method above three boreal forest stands and implications for the measurement of the CO2 flux

TL;DR: In this article, the authors analyzed 5 years of EC carbon dioxide, water vapor, and sensible heat flux measurements from three mature boreal forest stands in central Saskatchewan, Canada, and derived an analogous FNEE ''closure fraction'' CF NEE by normalizing measured FNEE against estimates from an empirical model.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ecophysiological controls on the carbon balances of three southern boreal forests

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used the eddy covariance (EC) technique to measure carbon exchange at three boreal forest mature sites including Southern Old Aspen (SOA), Southern Old Black Spruce (SOBS), and Southern Old Jack Pine (SOJP) in 2000.
