Expression of Met-(−1) angiogenin in Escherichia coli: conversion to the authentic <Glu-1 protein
TL;DR: Conversion of Met-(-1) angiogenin to the authentic less than Glu-1 protein was achieved by treatment with Aeromonas aminopeptidase under conditions in which the new N-terminal glutamine readily cyclizes nonenzymatically.
Journal ArticleDOI
Structural conservation of distinctive N-terminal acetylation-dependent interactions across a family of mammalian NEDD8 ligation enzymes
Julie K. Monda,Daniel C. Scott,Darcie J. Miller,John R. Lydeard,David S. King,J. Wade Harper,Eric J. Bennett,Eric J. Bennett,Brenda A. Schulman +8 more
TL;DR: Distinct preferences of UBC12 and UBE2F peptides for inhibiting different DCNLs, including the oncogenic DCNL1 protein, suggest it may be possible to develop small molecules blocking specific N-acetyl-methionine-dependent protein interactions.
Journal ArticleDOI
The oncoprotein kinase chaperone CDC37 functions as an oncogene in mice and collaborates with both c-myc and cyclin D1 in transformation of multiple tissues.
TL;DR: It is reported that mouse mammary tumor virus (MMTV)-CDC37 transgenic mice develop mammary gland tumors at a rate comparable to that observed previously in MMTV-cyclin D1 mice, and suggests that the establishment of protein kinase pathways mediated by Cdc37-Hsp90 can be a rate-limiting event in epithelial cell transformation.
Journal ArticleDOI
HiNF-P directly links the cyclin E/CDK2/p220NPAT pathway to histone H4 gene regulation at the G1/S phase cell cycle transition.
Angela Miele,Corey D. Braastad,William F. Holmes,Partha Mitra,Ricardo F. Medina,Ronglin Xie,Sayyed K. Zaidi,Xin Ye,Yue Wei,J. Wade Harper,Andre J. Van Wijnen,Janet L. Stein,Gary S. Stein +12 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that HiNF-P, a transcriptional regulator of replication-dependent histone H4 genes, interacts directly with p220NPAT, a substrate of cyclin E/CDK2, to coactivate histone genes during S phase.
Journal ArticleDOI
The ORFeome Collaboration: A genome-scale human ORF-clone resource
Stefan Wiemann,Christa Pennacchio,Yanhui Hu,Preston Hunter,Matthias Harbers,Alexandra Amiet,Graeme Bethel,Melanie Busse,Piero Carninci,Mark Diekhans,Ian Dunham,Tong Hao,J. Wade Harper,Yoshihide Hayashizaki,Oliver Heil,Steffen Hennig,Agnes Hotz-Wagenblatt,Wonhee Jang,Anika Jöcker,Jun Kawai,Christoph Koenig,Bernhard Korn,Cristen Lambert,Anita Lebeau,Sun Lu,Johannes Maurer,Troy Moore,Osamu Ohara,Jin Park,Andreas Rolfs,Kourosh Salehi-Ashtiani,Catherine Seiler,Blake A. Simmons,Anja van Brabant Smith,Jason Steel,Lukas Wagner,Tom Weaver,Ruth Wellenreuther,Shuwei Yang,Marc Vidal,Daniela S. Gerhard,Joshua La Baer,Gary F. Temple,David E. Hill +43 more
TL;DR: The ORFeome Collaboration (OC) open reading frame (ORF) clone collection, created by the OC, is described, an international collaboration of academic and commercial groups committed to providing genome-scale clone resources for human genes via worldwide commercial and academic clone distributors.
