Protection against repeated vaginal SHIV challenges by a combination of VRC01 and an anti-α4β7 antibody
Giulia Calenda,Ines Frank,Géraldine Arrode-Brusés,Amarendra Pegu,Keyun Wang,James Arthos,Claudia Cicala,Brooke Grasperge,James Blanchard,Stephanie Maldonado,Kevin Roberts,Agegnehu Gettie,Anthony S. Fauci,John R. Mascola,Elena Martinelli +14 more
TL;DR: Suboptimal dosing of VRC01 alone or in combination with Rh-α4β7 or with control antibodies prior to the initiation of weekly vaginal exposures to a high dose of SHIVAD8-EO delayed infection, altered anti-viral immune responses and minimized CD4+ T cell loss.

Protection of rhesus macaques against vaginal SHIV challenges by VRC01 and an anti-α4β7 antibody
Giulia Calenda,Ines Frank,Géraldine Arrode-Brusés,Amarendra Pegu,Keyun Wang,James Arthos,Claudia Cicala,Brooke Grasperge,James Blanchard,Stephanie Maldonado,Kevin Roberts,Agegnehu Gettie,Anthony S. Fauci,John R. Mascola,Elena Martinelli +14 more
TL;DR: A combination of VRC01 and Rh-α4β7 significantly delayed SHIV acquisition, protected CD4 counts, decreased gut viral load and modified the immune response to the virus.

An intact amber-free HIV-1 system for in-virus protein bioorthogonal click labeling that delineates envelope conformational dynamics
Yuanyun Ao,Jonathan R. Grover,Yang Han,Guohua Zhong,Wenyi Qin,Dibya Ghimire,Anzarul Haque,Rajanya Bhattacharjee,Bao Shan Zhang,James Arthos,Edward A. Lemke,Peter D. Kwong,Maolin Lu +12 more
TL;DR: In this paper , an intact amber-free virus system was developed that overcomes impediments from preexisting ambers in HIV-1 and incorporated dual ncAAs at amber-introduced sites into Env on intact virions.
